S.R0--0 v.0 List of Tables Table : CFD Subscription Options... 0 List of Tables -ii

S.R0--0 v.0 0 Call Forwarding Default (CFD) Call Forwarding Default (CFD) permits a called subscriber to send incoming calls addressed to the called subscriber s identity to the subscriber s designated voice mailbox or to another identity (forward-to identity) when the subscriber is engaged in a call (and CFB is not enabled); does not answer the call within a specified period after being alerted (and CFNA is not enabled); or is otherwise inaccessible (including no paging response, the subscriber s location is not known, the subscriber is reported as inactive, etc.). CFD does not impact a subscriber s ability to originate calls. A subscriber may select a forward-to termination address when the subscriber registers the CFD.. Normal Procedures with Successful Outcome Authorization CFD may be generally available or may be provided after prearrangement with the service provider. The authorization may have the following subscription options: Deauthorization Table : Subscription Options Registration Activation CFD Subscription Options Values Variable. The subscriber is authorized to specify his or her own forward-to identity. Fixed. Forward-to identity is registered upon authorization. Demand. The subscriber is authorized to control the activation and deactivation of CFD. Permanent. CFD is active while authorized. CFD may be withdrawn at the subscriber s request or for administrative reasons. Registration If the subscriber is authorized for Fixed Registration, the forward-to identity shall be registered upon authorization. Call Forwarding Default (CFD) -

S.R0--0 v.0 The CFD forward-to identity may be registered by the service provider upon authorization for Variable Registration subscribers. CFD may be registered by a Variable Registration authorized subscriber specifying the CFD registration feature code and a forward-to number termination identity or voice message system Modifier Digit ( V on the keypad), as in: *FC + termination address; or *FC + (Voice message system). If the registration is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. Registration associates the subscriber with the termination address as a forward-to identity or with a particular voice mail box on a voice message system. Voice mail box passwords are registered separately with the voice message system. Deregistration CFD may be deregistered upon deactivation (at the home service provider option). If the deregistration is to be separate from deactivation, the deregistration feature code must be distinct from the corresponding deactivation feature code. CFD may be deregistered by a Variable Registration authorized subscriber specifying the CFD deregistration feature code, as in: *FC0 CFD shall be deregistered upon deauthorization. Activation If the subscriber is authorized for Permanent Activation, CFD shall be activated upon authorization. CFD may be activated upon authorization or registration for Demand Activation authorized subscribers. CFD may be activated upon registration for Variable Registration authorized subscribers. A previously registered CFD forward-to identity may be activated by a Demand Activation authorized subscriber specifying a CFD activation feature code, as in: *FC If the activation is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. The serving system may provide a courtesy call to the forward-to identity shortly after this feature is activated, permitting the subscriber to verify the validity of the forward-to identity. 0 - Call Forwarding Default (CFD)

S.R0--0 v.0 0 Deactivation CFD may be deactivated by a Demand Activation authorized subscriber specifying the CFD deactivation feature code, as in: *FC0 If the deactivation is accepted, the system shall indicate success with feature confirmation treatment. CFD shall be deactivated upon deauthorization or deregistration. Invocation The feature treatment is invoked when there is an incoming call that is not or cannot be answered (for any reason) and CFD is activated. Reasons for forwarding a call with CFD include: a. Do Not Disturb active, etc. b. UE location is not known. c. UE reported inactive. d. No UE response to a page request. e. No UE response to alerting, and CFNA not active. f. No subscriber response to Call Waiting notification, and CFNA not active. g. Subscriber is engaged in a call or service. If the called subscriber is available and in any state other than the idle state, the subscriber is considered to be busy and CFD should apply, unless CFB is active. Normal Operation with Successful Outcome When CFD is active, incoming calls for the subscriber shall be forwarded to the registered forward-to identity or voice mailbox when the subscriber does not or cannot answer the call, unless other forward-to features with precedence are invoked. Accounting Record The system should record accounting information for the following: a. CFD registration activities and events. b. CFD deregistration activities and events. c. CFD activation activities and events. d. CFD deactivation activities and events. e. CFD invocation events. f. Forward-to call leg usage. Call Forwarding Default (CFD) -

S.R0--0 v.0. Exception Procedures or Unsuccessful Outcome Registration If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, or if the forward-to identity is not acceptable, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when registration is attempted. The system should not accept forward-to identity to the operator (0- or 0+), service codes (N), police, fire or similar agencies, or a revertive call. Deregistration If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when deregistration is attempted. Activation If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, or if a forward-to identity is not properly registered, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when activation is attempted. If the courtesy call to the forward-to identity cannot be routed, then the activation attempt should be given the appropriate treatment, such as applying the Special Information Tone for intercept to the registering subscriber. Since the validity of the forward-to identity is in doubt, CFD may be deregistered and deactivated. Courtesy calls need not be answered to verify the validity of the forward-to identity. Deactivation If the subscriber is not authorized for the request, the system shall apply feature denial treatment when deactivation is attempted. Invocation If the forwarded call cannot be routed to the forwarded-to destination, then the call should be given the appropriate treatment, such as applying the Special Information Tone for intercept to the calling party. Precautions shall be taken by the system to preclude undesirable looping of forwarded identities. Exceptions While Roaming None identified. Exceptions During Intersystem Handoff None identified. 0 - Call Forwarding Default (CFD)

S.R0--0 v.0 0. Alternative Procedures None identified.. Interactions with Other Wireless Services No interactions have been identified with the following exceptions: Call Forwarding Busy (CFB) CFB takes precedence over CFD. That is, calls arriving to a busy subscriber with CFB and CFD active shall be forwarded by CFB and not given CFD treatment. Call Forwarding No Answer (CFNA) CFNA takes precedence over CFD. That is, an incoming call for a non-answering subscriber with both CFNA and CFD active shall be forwarded using CFNA. Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU) CFU takes precedence over CFD. That is, calls arriving when CFU is active shall be forwarded unconditionally and not given the CFD treatment. Call Waiting (CW) CW is invoked before CFD. If a call arrives for a busy subscriber able to receive a second call, the called subscriber has both CW and CFD active, and no call is waiting to be answered; the call is presented to the subscriber with CW notification. If the call is not answered within a period of time after applying the first CW notification, it shall be given no answer treatment. If a call arrives for a busy subscriber, the called subscriber has both CW and CFD active, and if the called subscriber is unable to receive a second call or has a call waiting to be answered; the call shall be forwarded immediately by CFD. Calling Identification Presentation (CIP) If the called subscriber has CIP active, the calling identity may be presented to the called subscriber during call forwarding indication according to CIP s procedures. If the forwarded-to user has CIP active and the original calling party does not have CIR active, the original calling identity shall be presented to the forwarded-to user. If the forwarded-to user has CIP active and the forwarding party does not have CIR active, the forwarding party identity may be presented to the forwarded-to user. Call Forwarding Default (CFD) -

S.R0--0 v.0 Calling Identification Restriction (CIR) If the calling identity indicates presentation restricted and CFD is invoked, the calling identity shall not be presented to the called party or the forward-to party. If the called (redirecting) subscriber has CFD invoked and either the CIR mode is Permanently Restricted or the CIR Default is Presentation Restricted, the redirecting identity shall indicate presentation restricted to prevent presentation to the forward-to party. Customized Ring-Back Tone (CRBT) Before the call is forwarded, the calling party shall be presented with the original called party s CRBT if available. When the call is forwarded, the called party s network shall continue to present the called party s CRBT to the calling party until a signaling indication is received from the forwarded-to party s network regarding the availability of media. If the forwarded-to party has CRBT based on calling party s identity, then the CRBT should be played based on the original calling party s identity. Flexible Alerting (FA) Interaction between FA and CFD is beyond the scope of this Standard. The following describes a possible implementation: CFD of the FA Pilot Identity shall apply to calls to the Pilot Identity when CFD is active and the call is not or cannot be answered, and no other forwarding options are invoked. CFD for the FA pilot identity takes precedence over CFD of the individual FA identities. That is, if both the FA pilot identity and an FA member have CFD active, CFD treatment is determined by the FA pilot identity. Inbound Call Restrictions (ICR) / Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR) ICR and ACR take precedence over CFD. If an incoming call arrives for a subscriber with ICR and CFD active, the call is screened by ICR first. If the call is not blocked by ICR, an attempt is made to deliver the call to the subscriber. If the subscriber does not or cannot answer the call, CFD is then invoked, unless preempted by other forwarding features. Outbound Call Restrictions (OCR) Registering a call forwarding identity to an identity blocked by the OCR service should be precluded. If the forwarding user s call to the forwarded-to user is restricted by OCR, then the attempt to forward the call to the forwarded-to user shall be rejected. 0 - Call Forwarding Default (CFD)

S.R0--0 v.0 0 Terminating Identification Presentation (TIP) If the calling subscriber has TIP active, the forwarded-to identity should be presented to the calling subscriber according to TIP procedures. If the original called party does not have TIR active, the original called identity may also be presented to the calling subscriber. Terminating Identification Restriction (TIR) If the forwarded-to subscriber has TIR active, the forwarded-to identity shall not be presented to the calling subscriber. If the original called party has TIR active, the original called identity shall not be presented to the calling subscriber. Call Forwarding Default (CFD) -
