Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40110 Course Overview This qualification specifies the competencies required to deliver training in an industry area or area of subject matter expertise, and to conduct competency-based assessment in a range of contexts. The course is divided into the workshop clusters listed below. These may be undertaken consecutively, or broken down into the individual clusters with attendance at any of the Trainwest venues Cluster 1: Learning Design Duration: 3 Days This cluster typically applies to a trainer or facilitator who designs or develops learning programs. It assumes that the person is working from a pre-defined training product, such as a training package or accredited course, and applying that product to meet client needs. They may have responsibility to provide guidance or to delegate aspects of these tasks to others. This cluster also applies to people who are making the transition from being a team member, to taking responsibility for the work and performance of others. As such it is important that trainers and assessors model good practice, professionalism and confidently represent their organisation TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet clients needs Cluster 2: Delivery and Facilitation Duration: 3 Days This cluster supports a wide range of applications across any workplace setting and so can be used by any organisation. Its use is not restricted to training organisations. The person may be working from a learning program developed by someone else, and structuring the learning around that program. These units typically apply to a person working as an entry level trainer, teacher or facilitator, team leader or workplace supervisor, or any employee responsible for guiding learning through work. Cluster 3: Assessor Duration: 4 Days This cluster typically applies to assessors and workplace supervisors with assessment planning responsibilities; and trainers or other assessors responsible for planning assessment, including RPL. The cluster is suitable for those with an existing assessment strategy which documents the overall framework for assessment. This cluster also applies to assessors participating in assessment validation. It does not address leading the validation process. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include: Enterprise training and/or assessor registered training organisation (RTO) trainer and/or assessor training adviser or training needs analyst Vocational education teacher. Trainer and Assessor Industry Requirements 1. As of the 1st of July 2013, The National Skills Standards Council has determined that trainers must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Assessment Training Package as a minimum. Those that hold the BSZ40198 or TAA40104 qualification must upgrade to the TAE40110 requirement by 1st July 2013. 2. From July 2014 the current elective unit TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills will become a compulsory core unit in the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Vocational trainers and assessors are already expected to have some understanding of the impact of LLN on the design and delivery of training and assessment. As a core unit in the TAE40110, the unit TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills expands on these areas to give trainers a fuller understanding of LLN issues in training and assessment practice. Entry requirements There are no Prerequisites requirements for individual units. There is a significant amount of reading and writing and access to a computer is required for assignments and internet based research Assessment Participants will be assessed in a variety of ways during the course; this will include role play, case studies, demonstration and scenarios. The post course assignment involves the gathering of evidence relevant to all aspects of training and assessment in a workplace environment.

Certification Upon completion participants will receive the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 Upon completion of individual units of competency participants will receive a Statement of Attainment which is a progression towards the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 This is a Nationally Recognised Qualification. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibilities for the output of others. This qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledge base and well developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include coordinators, advisors and facilitators. This course is ideally completed over 8 (eight) working days of face to face training. There are small workplace assessments to be completed post course. Certificate IV Front Line Management BSB40812 Course Overview This qualification reflects the role of individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. Typically they would report to a manager. At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes. Protection of Fees The total amount of all fees including course fees is clearly outlined on all course information and enrolment forms. Trainwest accepts payment of no more than $1000 from each individual student prior to the commencement of the course. Following course commencement full payment not exceeding $1500 will be deducted from the student. All course fees consist of the following components: Enrolment and administration fee Course and resource fee Tuition fee Assessment of post course assignment Issuance of qualification once deemed competent All students are issued with a tax invoice at time of enrolment, and upon payment a tax receipt is issued. Payment Plan All clients have access to Trainwest s payment plan scheme at no extra cost. Payment terms and amounts are agreed upon between the client and Trainwest and a payment plan form is completed clearly outlining schedule of payments to be deducted. The standard payment terms are as follows: $500 payable prior to course commencement $250 payable on a fortnightly basis Payments are accepted via cash, cheque, direct deposit or credit card. Trainwest will not accept payments of more than $1500.00 at any given time. As you know, Trainwest goes the extra mile for our students, utilising the extensive networks we have within a multitude of industries. Our certificate holders have successfully fostered employment within their desired sector.
