The Osprey, Clovelly s Championship course is routed through the traditional landscape of the Avalon Peninsula, natural wetlands, small scenic ponds and surrounding forest dominated by Black Spruce and Balsam Fir. An excellent mix of holes is showcased by the demanding, yet playable par 5 s, short and medium length par 3 s, and a perfect mix of par 4 s. The Osprey can play differently every day due to the varying winds off the Atlantic, which provides a challenge to all golfers. With 10 par 3 s and 8 par 4 s, Black Duck is perfect for those golfers who are looking to get in a quick round of golf. Grand Falls Golf Club is located just 2 kms west of Grand Falls-Windsor. This is a very unique golf course with the front nine designed as a link style, with open fairways and small greens that provide a challenge of accuracy on approach shots with each hole. The Graham Cooke designed back nine has tighter fairways bounded by forest on both sides and larger greens. The overall layout is flat and open with undulating greens and makes for an easy walk through the fairways. Harmon Seaside Links was originally designed as a 9-hole course for US servicemen stationed at the Ernest Harmon Air Force Base in the 1960s, Harmon Seaside Links now boasts a Graham Cooke designed 9-hole extension. The combined holes provide a challenging 18-hole golf experience unique to the island. Bordering on scenic Bay St. George, minutes from downtown Stephenville, Harmon s ocean breeze adds a soothing feel to the course while at the same time requiring a player to heed the prevailing winds on a course that combines a true links style with moderately treed holes.
