willingness to travel to any and all selected training sites on and off the reservation for student visits and evaluations Exhibits professionalism, reciprocity, kindness, and humility in dealing with students and faculty; leads by example as a health care leader PROJECT DIRECTOR DUTIES: Ensures the project is implemented as planned prepares documents needed for program compliance ensures project fulfills its educational and employment objectives facilitates accreditation of training programs with the BON, also making sure regulatory statues and standards on the state and federal level are followed and enforced coordinates the project activities evaluates project staff chairs advisory board meetings and disseminates project information to the community attends the quarterly BON meetings in Helena and continues to network with other schools of nursing in the state, including tribal colleges is the liaison for cultural immersion for other faculty and staff in the program plays a major role in curriculum development and review makes sure students in the program have passed background checks, have an up to date health history for clinical work and keeps records on all aspects of the program ensures day to day oversight of the clinical contracts making sure institutional and program policies related to supervision and guidance of students are followed provides oversight and guidance for all aspects of the RN program
AANIIIH NAKODA COLLEGE POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: PROGRAM: Nursing Instructor Grow Our Own Nursing Education Program DEPARTMENT: Nursing Department CLASSIFICATION: X Regular X Full-time Administrative X Instructional Temporary Part-time Support Staff Consultant SUPERVISOR: Reports to the Caring for Our Own Project Director DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: master s degree in nursing (MSN) minimum of two years of experience in nursing practice, preferably with at least one year in a long-term care facility or providing care for geriatric patients up to date license to practice nursing in the state of Montana teaching in a nursing education program and/or in a clinical situation has taught an entry level nursing course, depending upon the area of expertise (geriatric) and is willing to do the clinical in that area has experience or is willing to learn the indigenous ways of teaching and learning is self-motived, organized, astute in modern technology and familiar with simulation laboratory clinical experiences for nursing training can mentor, advise, tutor and is responsible for placing students in in clinical sites
has demonstrated a commitment to the mission of Aaniiih Nakoda College and is willing to serve the Fort Belknap Indian Community and the broader region is a team player, a person of action who is willing to travel to the broadly spaced clinical sites for student supervision, mentoring and being a role model for others demonstrates a cultural sensitivity and humility for all members of the community and is a professional with expert training and knowledge PERFORMANCE DUTIES: provide classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for the RN program serve as academic advisor for all nursing students develop and implement training program curricula develop and implement assessment plans for measuring student achievement of course and program learning outcomes serve on the Aaniiih Nakoda College Curriculum Committee coordinate clinical experiences with participating health care facilities, provide direct oversight of trainees clinical performance and maintain frequent contact with clinical preceptors organize individual and small-group tutorial services as needed lead study sessions in preparation for state and federal licensure examinations work with the nursing director in maintaining compliance with the Montana State Board of Nursing standards travel to various clinical sites along the Hi-Line and elsewhere to ensure quality of clinical performance and services
