INVITATION The Association of Applied Geochemists is delighted to invite all their members and others interested in applied geochemistry to participate in the 2013 symposium to be held in Rotorua, New Zealand in conjunction with the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop. On behalf of the Organising Committee, we invite you to consider exhibiting at the 26 th International Applied Geochemistry Symposium (IAGS). IAGS 2013 Organising Committee SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW The AAG (www.appliedgeochemists.org) is an international scientific society that promotes the science of geochemistry applied to exploration and the environment. Its worldwide membership is composed of researchers, professionals and students from university, industry and government organisations. Its publication, Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis, is recognised as a premier international scientific journal. Location of the approximately 500 active members of the Association of Applied Geochemists 2

The International Applied Geochemical Symposium (IAGS) is the world s premiere forum for exchange of ideas on a broad range of issues related to the use of geochemistry in the resources industry, and is an increasingly attractive forum for those working in the environmental geochemistry field. It is held every second year and attracts 250-400 national and international delegates. The delegate representation includes academia, industry, government, Crown Research Institutes and consultants. In 2013, the IAGS will also incorporate the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop which will attract additional delegates from the geothermal industry. In all, we expect 400-500 delegates. When 18 21 November 2013 Where Rotorua Convention Centre in Rotorua, New Zealand (www.eventvenues.co.nz/conventioncentre). The Centre is a 5 minute walk from central Rotorua and a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. Rotorua Convention Centre (middle) Programme Overview The IAGS 2013 programme will feature four days of technical sessions and social activities that will appeal to a broad range of geochemists and geoscientists interested in applied geochemistry. Workshops and Short courses, and pre- and post-symposium excursions are designed to support the technical programme. The progamme encompasses a variety of disciplines, including applied geochemistry, new ways of analysis, interpretation of data and the importance of taking care of the environment in mineral 3

exploration and mining, and geothermal development. Three days of the four-day technical programme will also feature parallel sessions of the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop on geothermal exploration and development Special sessions for the IAGS 2013 will include geothermal geochemistry and geochemistry of sea floor massive sulphide deposits of the Kermadec Arc and similar active systems. The Trade Exhibition will be held in the Banquet Room area of the Rotorua Convention Centre. This area will be the venue for morning tea/coffee, lunch and afternoon tea/coffee for the four days of the technical programme (three days for the NZ Geothermal Workshop), and for the evening Welcome Function (Sunday) and Cocktail Function (Monday). Delegates will also use the area on arrival each day before the technical sessions start and for taking breaks from the technical session programme. Exhibition Plan The floor plan has been designed to ensure good visibility, access to all stands and to maximise traffic flow, which will be encouraged by placement of catering stations at key points in the exhibition area. The Committee will allocate display areas to registered exhibitors. The Committee reserves the right to change the floor plan as circumstances dictate. Exhibitor s Information Guide All exhibition stand information will be included in the Exhibitor s Information Guide and will be sent out approximately 4 weeks before the symposium. This will include confirmed set up and dismantling times, location of appropriate loading bays, recommended display exhibition equipment suppliers, accommodation, IAGS 2013 programme, updated floor plans and general information. Exhibitor passes Two exhibitor passes are provided with each booth registration. These allow entry to the exhibition area only. HOW TO BOOK AND PAYMENT DEADLINES Booking Conditions Acceptance of exhibition applications will be subject to the Organising Committee approval. The Committee reserves the right to decline applications based on any association, direct or indirect, that does not uphold the objectives of the event. Payments Exhibition booths are NZ$2000.00 + 15% GST. They will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of the deposit payment and application form. In order to confirm your booth we will require the Application to Exhibit form and payment to be forwarded to the Symposium Organiser s Office. Please note: all prices are quoted in $NZ and exclusive of 15% GST. An invoice will be issued and must be paid within one month of receipt. If payment is not received within that period your booth registration risks being cancelled and allocated to another exhibitor. If you are required to cancel your booth booking please notify janet@absolutelyorganised.co.nz and note the following refund policy. A refund of booth fees paid less a cancellation fee of $100 will be made for cancellations received prior to 31 March 2013. A refund of 50% of booth fees will be made for cancellations received from 1 April to 31 August. No refund will be paid on any fees for cancellations received from 1 September 2013.
