ScriptLgic Crpratin 2010 Intrductin This sectin will give yu a brief intrductin t ScriptLgic Crpratin and ur award winning prducts. Key Features f sl360 Tl Suite ScriptLgic's sl360 Tl Suite cnslidates the ScriptLgic free netwrk management tls int a real time reprting slutin and replaces disparate IT tls frm multiple vendrs. Why use individual pint tls when yu can explit the value f these utilities in a cnslidated suite that als includes integratin with brwser-based pen surce netwrking tls such as Nagis, OpenNMS, and thers? Create custm dashbards, flw results between tls, and save netwrk settings and favrites. The pwerful, yet easy t use sl360 helps yu tame yur netwrk. Netwrks are cmplicated. Netwrk Management desn't have t be. sl360 Tl Suite At a Glance ScriptLgic Dashbard is a netwrk management dashbard with a summary display f key perfrmance indicatrs (KPIs) and diagnstic metrics f netwrk perfrmance and availability. Managers and peratins staff can cntinuusly mnitr key assets at chsen intervals with custmizable gadgets. ScriptLgic Quick Launch prvides ne-click access t all key areas f the Tl Suite and allws fr cnvenient flw f results between tls. Cmprised f several cmpnents: Running Tls, Recent Tls, Favrites and Device Grups, the Quick Launch als has useful resurces such as ScriptLgic Help and Prduct Updates. ScriptLgic Favrites allws yu t cnfigure device grups, general criteria, and yur favrite tl all wrapped as ne custm tl. This gives yu the ability t perfrm ne-click runs f critical diagnstics specific t yur netwrk. ScriptLgic Device Grups allw yu t treat selected netwrk targets as ne cnslidated target f IPs and Subnets, gruped tgether fr quick access when running a tl. sl360 Netwrk Discvery perfrms a lightning quick scan f the entire netwrk t discver all devices. Leveraging SNMP, the tl prvides a cmplete set f attributes fr each device that has been discvered and the results are piped int a cutting-edge iggle-like user interface. Gather all technical data including hardware, sftware, and prcesses fr each device. Identify devices by respnding, status, prtcls, type, and perating system Scan a single device, a subnet, r a range f subnets. Interact with ScriptLgic Encrypted Credential Stre fr user access t devices. sl360 Netwrk Inventry creates a detailed repsitry f all devices n yur netwrk. It prvides perating system, interface and prt details, IP addresses, installed Windws sftware and many ther details. The Netwrk Inventry utility has rbust searching and reprting capabilities as well. Take full cntrl f all netwrk assets yu care abut N special agents r data cllectrs are needed Stre all inventry infrmatin lcally fr quick access Utilize SNMP prtcls in the netwrk discvery engine Search fr granular infrmatin acrss all devices fr additinal analysis Generate reprts fr each r all devices and exprt t HTML r.csv ScriptLgic Encrypted Credential Stre cnslidates Windws, SNMP, and Telnet credentials in a single lcatin fr quick and simple diagnstics. The Credential Stre utilizes 256-bit AES Encryptin and prvides passwrd key access fr additinal prtectin. ScriptLgic Cisc Cnfig eases cnfiguratin and change management f Cisc devices in lieu f ne-ff nn-integrated pint tls. Dwnlad device cnfiguratin files frm a Cisc devices p3

ScriptLgic Crpratin 2010 Archive Cisc ruter startup and running netwrk cnfiguratins Uplad cnfiguratin changes t ruters r switches via SNMP r Telnet Cmpare the running cnfig f a Cisc ruter with the startup cnfig r archive cnfig G T and Find any sectin within the cnfig file quickly Decrypt any Cisc type-7 passwrds fr ruters and switches fr lst passwrd recvery ScriptLgic Syslg Server receives, lgs and displays syslg messages frm hsts such as ruters, switches, and any ther syslg enabled device. Real-time display f syslg messages with date/time, hst name, pririty, and message. Archive messages fr quick future reference Filter messages by Facility, Severity, date/time, hst name, and key wrds Frward messages t anther syslg server Exprt messages t HTML,.csv, and XML ScriptLgic TFTP Server is a multi-threaded, highly scalable TFTP server. It supprts unlimited simultaneus transfers and ffers extended ptin negtiatin between client and server, including clck size, transfer size, and timeut. Specify all and individual client cnnectins fr ultimate security. TFTP Server is cmmnly used t mve executable images and cnfiguratins t and frm ruters, switches, hubs, XTerminals, and ther netwrk resurces. ScriptLgic DNS Audit matches each IP Address in a specified range f IP Addresses t its dmain name, and then checks back frm the dmain name t the IP Address t see if the reslutin is the same frward and in rev erse. DNS Audit als displays NetBIOS Hst Name, Hst, and LMHst fr cmplete visibility. ScriptLgic Ping Scan fires ICMP ECHO requests acrss a range f IP addresses and rapidly builds a spreadsheet fr a quick visual display f which IP addresses are in use and which are nt. DNS lkup infrmatin is prvided by Ping Scan fr each respnding address. ScriptLgic Prt Scan tests fr pen TCP prts n specified individual machines and prts as well as within targeted ranges f IP addresses and prts. The mst cmmn prt names are cnveniently preladed, but custm service names can be added easily. Prt Scan is fast and easy t cnfigure fr a high degree f persnal custmizatin in the resulting view. Prt scans can be scaled t match particular machine abilities, characteristics and firewall plicies. Multiple exprt frmats make fr ptimal presentatin f the data in differing circumstances and situatins. ScriptLgic SNMP Scan discvers the cntents f netwrk subnets quickly and simply by cmbining SNMP discvery capabilities with a Ping Scan f a designated range f IP Addresses. Used and unused IP addresses are all identified and lgged by SNMP Scan as well. ScriptLgic Enhanced Ping cntinuusly lgs running respnse times and exprts data n demand t HTML, XML and CSV files. Enhanced Ping reprts register current respnse time and running average respnse time in millisecnds as well as the current rate f packet lss. ScriptLgic Trace Rute finds the rute frm an IP address t any ther address by sending specially cnfigured packets in a series f hps frm nde t nde. By sending packets designed t time ut and get returned after differing numbers f hps, and examining the ICMP and SNMP data returned, Trace Rute can rapidly assemble a real-time display f reslved DNS, machine type, ISO level, bt and respnse time. ScriptLgic WMI Scan prvides key infrmatin n the system and WMI Status fr devices n the netwrk. The results can be quickly and easily exprted n demand frm WMI Scan t HTML, XML and CSV files. ScriptLgic Graphical Ping is a pwerful and versatile graphing tl which ffers graphing functins (spline chart, bar chart, and area chart) and variable ICMP parameters t ptimize data cllectin fr differing situatins and purpses. ScriptLgic MAC Scan sweeps the immediate subnet f its hst and builds a table cmprised f a pertinent MAC Address, ping respnse-time, DNS, netwrk card manufacturer and manufacturer address infrmatin fr each IP Address. Laded n a laptp, MAC Scan can be mved frm subnet t subnet t discver and build tables fr all subnets in a netwrk. p4

ScriptLgic Crpratin 2010 ScriptLgic WHOIS quickly accesses multiple public dmain recrds databases and perfrms a search by IP address r dmain name. It then creates a detailed reprt n dmain names, URLs, IP addresses, netwrk addresses and e-mail addresses. The WHOIS reprt can be exprted t a HTML file. ScriptLgic Traffic Jam is a randm traffic generatr fr the WAN. Packet size, circuit bandwidth, and lad percentage are variable and custmizable. Traffic Jam bmbards WAN pipes and links with specified lads f randm packets t measure netwrk perfrmance under knwn lad cnditins. It can be used t simulate the latency issues, jitter, high lss and drp rates experienced under peak usage cnditins fr critical applicatins and thus allws fr slving small prblems befre they grw int large cstly prblems. ScriptLgic Wake On LAN will bt any netwrked machine with previusly enabled capability in the BIOS by means f a magic packet frm a remte lcatin. Because an enabled netwrk interface card is still receiving pwer, even n a shut dwn device, it keeps listening fr the unique magic created fr its MAC address. Upn receptin, the netwrk adapter alerts the cmputer t pwer n just as if the pwer buttn had been pressed. (Occasinally it will be necessary t reserve pwer fr the card.) Wake On LAN is fr thse wh have the thankless task f updating the many far flung machines f a large rganizatin, fr thse wh have left a digital asset n a shut dwn PC smewhere else, r fr thse wh just need a little magic n the netwrk. p5

Perfrmance Cunters Cnfiguratin select the Active Directry perfrmance cunters that yu wuld like t mnitr in the gadget DRA Inbund Bytes Ttal / Sec - This cunter displays the number f bytes received thrugh inbund Active Directry related replicatin. If this number is cnsistently equal t zer, it means that replicatin is nt ccurring. Lw numbers may indicate that there is a netwrk bttleneck r that the server's NIC is t busy with ther traffic t receive the requests in a timely manner. DRA Inbund Object Updates Remaining in Packet - This cunter displays the number f Active Directry bjects that have been received thrugh replicatin, but that have nt yet been applied. This number may start high, but shuld diminish very quickly. If this value takes a while t diminish, it is a clue that the server's hardware might nt be fast enugh t keep up with the demand. DRA Outbund Bytes Ttal / Sec - This cunter displays the ttal number f bytes (cmpressed and uncmpressed) that are being transmitted each secnd as a result f the replicatin prcess. A lack f activity ften indicates insufficient hardware. DRA Pending Replicatin Synchrnizatin - This number indicates the number f bjects which must be synchrnized. Like the DRA Inbund Object Updated Remaining in Packet cunter, this value may start high, but shuld quickly dissipate. If this cunter's value remains high, it usually means that the hardware is having truble keeping pace with the demands being made f it. DS Threads in Use - This cunter indicates the number f threads that are currently servicing client API calls. Yu can use this value t determine whether r nt the dmain cntrller culd benefit frm additinal prcessrs. Kerbers Authenticatins - The value frm this cunter indicates the number f times each secnd that clients use a ticket t authenticate t the dmain cntrller. A lack f activity smetimes indicates that netwrk prblems are preventing requests frm reaching the dmain cntrller. LDAP Bind Time - This cunter indicates the number f millisecnds that the last successful LDAP bind tk t cmplete. This value shuld remain cnsistently lw. Lnger bind times can be an indicatin f netwrk prblems r f hardware that needs t be upgraded. LDAP Client Sessins - This number indicates the number f LDAP sessins that are cnnected t the dmain cntrller at the mment. The apprpriate value depends n yur netwrk, but if this value remains at zer, it means that yu prbably have sme netwrk prblems that are preventing client sessins frm cnnecting with the server. LDAP Searches / Sec - The LDAP Searches / Sec cunter indicates the number f LDAP queries made by clients each secnd. I recmmend viewing this cunter alng with the LDAP Successful Binds / Sec cunter, which shws the number f successful LDAP binds each secnd. The biggest thing that yu are lking fr in these tw cunters is activity. A lack f activity wuld almst always indicate that netwrk prblems are disrupting the client's ability t interact with the dmain cntrller. ScriptLgic Crpratin 2010 Wake n LAN ScriptLgic Wake n LAN will bt any netwrked machine with previusly enabled capability in the BIOS by means f a magic packet frm a remte lcatin. Because an enabled netwrk interface card (NIC) is still receiving pwer, even n a shut dwn device, it keeps listening fr the unique magic packet created fr its MAC address. Upn receptin, the netwrk adapter alerts the cmputer t pwer n just as if the pwer buttn had been pressed. (Occasinally it will be necessary t reserve pwer fr the card.) Enabling Wake n LAN in the BIOS Default setting n mst servers will have Wake n LAN disabled. Yu may need t cntact yur v endr fr precise instructins fr enablement. This is meant as a general guide: First, enter the BIOS settings screen during the self-test prtin f the bt. Often F12 r DEL keys prvide access t the BIOS settings. (See yur vendr supprt dcumentatin.) G t Pwer Settings. Search fr settings related t Pwer Up Cntrl. Enable settings related t Pwer Up n PCI card, LAN, r Netwrk. Save and exit. On a Windws OS yu need t enable Wake n LAN features in the netwrk adapter as well. T enable Wake n LAN supprt in Windws: Access the prperties f the netwrk adapter. Find Pwer Management Wake-n capabilities can be listed in a number f ways depending n the netwrk adapter, but they are usually bvius and intuitive. Enabling Directed Bradcasts If the device yu are attempting t wake is n anther subnet yu must insure yur ruter between subnets allws directed bradcasts. Because yur target device is drmant, it has n IP Address. Thus, a lcal subnet IP bradcast packet must be transmitted withut an ARP. Als, usually a secnd layer switch cannt identify the particular prt fr a target. T pll t all switch prts, a layer-tw bradcast packet, addressed t a specified MAC Address, must be used. Default settings n Cisc ruters leave IP bradcast packets enabled. In situatins where the default setting has been altered, yu will see: n IP directed-bradcast. This is the setting that must be changed. Run Wake n LAN Step 1: Enter the hst name, IP Address r Range f IP Addresses int the Target field. Step 2: Enter the MAC Address.
