Award of the scholarship is based upon academic achievement, financial need and initiative of the student. Hagan Scholarship Due Date: Nov. 15, 2013 Description: The Hagan Scholarship was established to award scholarships to high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Each Hagan Scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient, up to $5,000 per semester. Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship Due Date: April1, 2014 Description: The Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship is a $500.00 scholarship for a student that is or will be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall of 2014. The Secure Optimal Yield Scholarship Applications accepted: Sept. 15-Nov. 15, 2013 Description: The 2014-2015 Secure Optimal Yield Scholarship is a $5,000 onetime scholarship award presented to a high school senior who is going to pursue agriculture as a degree area of study at any accredited college or university. America s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship Program Application Period: November 15, 2013 through February 1, 2014 Description: Provides rural students with the opportunity to earn a $1,500 scholarship to further their agricultural education. Students apply at FFA.org/scholarships and must have three farmers endorse their application to be eligible for the Grow Ag Leaders scholarship. The farmer endorsement period runs until February 8, 2014. The Nebraska Academy of Sciences Due Date: March 1, 2014 Description: The Nebraska Academy of Sciences sponsors a number of scholarships each year for High School seniors planning to attend Colleges or Universities in the State of Nebraska. The scholarships offered require a scholarship application summary as well as supporting information in the form of essays, transcripts, testimonial letters from 2-3 supervisors or teachers, and lists of activities and/or related accomplishments. Scholarships vary from $100 to $1000. All the information is detailed on their website. Titan Machinery Sponsorship Program Description: The new sponsorship will pay all Central Community College diesel technology program school costs, including tuition, fees, books, and tools. The sponsorship does not provide for the cost of room and board. Selected students will be asked to work for Titan Machinery for two years upon completing their CCC diesel program AAS degree. To be selected: 1. Make application to CCC and be accepted. 2. Complete the Titan application for sponsorship. 3. Visit the CCC diesel program. 4. Great Plains Communications College Scholarship Description: Offered to graduating seniors who plan to attend a Nebraska state or private college, to a Nebraska one- or two- year trade or technical school, to Northwest Technical Institute of Goodland, Kansas and to Mitchell Technical Institute of Mitchell, South Dakota. FRED Scholarship Fund (Foundation for Rural Education and Development) Due Date: January 24, 2014 Description: Provides educational opportunities for individuals with a rural background who are attending or planning to attend an accredited college, university, or trade/vocational school and have demonstrated a commitment to rural life. Scholarship amounts range from $1000 to $2500 for general scholarships, with up to $5,000 being awarded to the top applicant. FRS College Scholarship Program (Foundation for Rural Service) Due Date: February 22, 2014 Description: Offers scholarship opportunities to rural high school seniors who express an interest in returning to a rural area to pursue their careers. Should a student from the service area be selected to receive one of the 30 national scholarships ($2000 each), they will make a matching $500 contribution to the scholarship, bringing the total award to $2500.
