Overview This series provides comprehensive training for both new and experienced trustees covering a range of essential topics including: identifying and managing risk in a charity, charity law update, managing cash and investments stage one and an introduction to charity finance and reporting. The programme enables you to pick and choose the courses most pertinent to you. Many of the courses will also be useful for charity chief executives, finance directors and other members of the senior management team. We are running the full day session on What every trustee should know on two separate dates in response to high demand. The session, primarily aimed at those who are new to the role, provides a comprehensive overview of a trustee s duties and responsibilities and the main issues currently affecting the sector. We will also be offering two refresher sessions for those with more experience, who would benefit from a half day refresh on the key elements of trusteeship. All of our sessions will present delegates with an opportunity to network. This session will assume a certain level of knowledge of trusteeship and legal duties and is designed as a refresher course. This session considers: How to identify, document, and grade financial and other threats to your charity s work over the short term and the long term Your governance structure to manage the risk process Who should be responsible on a day to day level What to do when things go wrong The duties of the board of trustees in managing risk The session will also contain a case study to actively engage the audience and share thoughts and ideas.
