Please be aware that every Android device is different, and so your screenshots may not look exactly as shown in this guide. Deleting an Exchange ActiveSync Account Android devices do not support reconfiguring a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account. This means you will need to delete your UCO account and re-add it if you need to make changes to your account settings, such as changing the server address after migrating to Office 365. Please be aware that you will need to reconfigure any signatures after you delete and re-add your account. Here are the steps to delete your UCO account: 1. Select the SETTINGS icon from you application list 2. Select ACCOUNTS from your list of settings 1
3. Select MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ACTIVESYNC from your list of accounts. 4. Select your UCO.EDU email account from your list of ActivSync accounts 5. Select the 3 DOT MENU icon in the top right corner of the screen. (Older versions of Android will not have these dots. You may need to LONG PRESS on your account to select it and get a menu.) 2
6. Select REMOVE ACCOUNT from the settings menu. You may have to confirm that you want to delete the account. ***NOTE: Deleting your UCO account from your mobile device will NOT affect your UCO email account or any of your emails. 3
Adding and Exchange ActiveSync Account 1. Select the SETTINGS icon from your list of applications. 2. Make sure you are on the ACCOUNTS section of your settings. Select ADD ACCOUNT. 4
3. When you are asked what kind of account to add, select MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ACTIVESYNC 4. Enter your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS and your UCO DOMAIN PASSWORD and hit NEXT. ***NOTE: Your Domain Password is the same password you use to log in to your office computer. 5
5. You should see a pop up saying that your Android is retrieving your account information. 6. You will then be prompted to allow the Exchange Server to remotely control your Android device. Tell it OK. 6
7. You will now be asked to configure how you would like your Android device to retrieve your email, calendar, and tasks. When you have configured everything to your preference, hit NEXT. 8. When your account has been configured, you will be prompted to name your email account. Call it something like UCO. Hit NEXT. 7
9. At some point in this process you will be prompted to allow the Exchange Server to remotely administer your device. Tell it ACTIVATE. (Or it may say ACCEPT.) Sometimes this screen does not pop up until the first time you actually open the mail program. ***NOTE: While an Android device will ask you to allow the Exchange server to remotely administer the device (such as Erase All Data ) UCO OIT does not have this ability installed on our server. Your device will not be remotely controlled by anyone in OIT. 10. You should now see your Exchange Email listed under the accounts on your Android device. It will say MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ACTIVESYNC. 8
