Job Aid: Setting up your Android 4.2 Device with Outlook This job aid will show you how to configure your Android 4.2 device with Outlook. You will verify that your device has internet connectivity and configure your mail settings. These steps are for a generic Android 4.2 device. Your device may be slightly different. If this job aid does not reflect the settings of your particular model, please consult your device manual for instructions on how to set up a Corporate or Exchange account, or contact your phone provider or Desktop and Network Services team for assistance. Please note: In setting your Android device to access your Trinity Health e-mail, you are adhering to the Trinity Health Security Policies (http://nexus.trinity-health.org/departments/eis/admin_procedure.shtml). One requirement of this policy is that your Android device will need a four-digit PIN. The device must set itself to automatically lock after five minutes of inactivity and prompt for this PIN to unlock the device. Connecting your device to Trinity Health s e-mail will enforce this rule. If you don t have a PIN, your device will prompt you to set one up. Verify Internet Connectivity and Cleanup 1. Open Browser. 2. Go to www.google.com. Note: If you cannot open this website, it is likely that your device does not have an Internet connection. Once an Internet connection is available, continue with the next step. 3. Go to the Home screen. Note: If your device was connected to GroupWise using NotifyLink, delete that account now. 4. Tap Corporate. 5. For Email address, type your full e-mail address. 6. For Password, type your Active Directory password. 8. Your phone will connect to the server and check settings automatically. Notes: If your device asks you to confirm settings, verify the following: If your phone has a field to type the Domain and Username together: Domain\Username: Use trinity-health\userid. For example: trinity-health\doej Do not put the domain after the userid. If your device has a separate field for Domain and Userid: Domain: trinity-health Username: Use your AD userid. Accessing Your Outlook Account from Android 4.2 The first time you access your Outlook account, a warning message will display regarding what access you are granting Trinity Health by connecting your phone to Trinity Health's Outlook system. 1.
