Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI divides her time between providing leadership for the nursing excellence program and as a nurse practitioner in cardiology. Her leadership role includes facilitating nursing shared governance, patient and nurse satisfaction surveys, and the DAISY Award program. As an NP, she provides consultation and long-term follow-up care to patients with acute and chronic arrhythmias including those with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. Beth was past-president of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Board of Directors; she completed her term in 2010. As president, Beth led the Board of Directors and rallied AACN s (then) 87,000 members around her Act with Intention theme.
