LETTER TO OUR PROSPECTIVE SPONSORS Dear Prospective Sponsor, Since 2002, the Vietnamese Interacting as One (VIA-1) Conference has been held annually to bring rising young Vietnamese student leaders together regionally in the Midwest from all over the country. The Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the Midwest (UVSA Midwest), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to announce that the 12 th Annual VIA-1 Conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio at The Ohio State University from March 14 th -16 th, 2014. UVSA Midwest is also excited to announce the collaboration with The Ohio State University Vietnamese Student Association (OSU VSA), in order to lead one of the most premier intercollegiate conferences in the country. During the conference, hundreds of students and young professionals will hone their leadership skills, hold discussions with distinguished speakers, and explore issues in the Vietnamese-American intercollegiate community. By coming together, we can achieve solidarity, collaborate on issues concerning our communities and universities, and encourage the growth of Vietnamese leaders. The VIA-1 Conference offers what many other conferences cannot offer; an opportunity to learn, develop personal and professional skills, and give back to the Vietnamese community. We look forward to establishing a mutually beneficial relationship with you and your company. We thank you for your time and appreciate your generosity. Best regards, Jessica Phan President Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the Midwest Returning Tides Vietnamese Interacting as One Conference : 2014 1

EVENT OVERVIEW NAME Vietnamese Interacting as One Conference THEME Returning Tides We come from many places and many different walks of life. However, what ties the Vietnamese community together is our love for the history and culture of Vietnam. These are the things that come in the form of changing tides in the ocean, tides that travel thousands of miles from where many of our families first began in Vietnam. These tides are empowered by the rivers that ebb and flow through Vietnam; tides that parents and grandparents went across to find freedom and peace in a land known as America. At the 12 th Annual VIA-1 Conference, we want to look upon the memories of our parents and grandparents journeys to the United States, focusing on how our past experiences have shaped who we are today, BUDGET BREAKDOWN Where Do Your Dollars Go?
