1 Enable Wi-Fi a) Please refer to your computer s user manual to enable the Wireless (Wi-Fi) connection. b) Please click on Start > Control Panel and switch View by to Category before following the instructions in this user guide. Page 2
c) Click Start and then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, click on System and Security and then click on Administrative Tools. In Administrative Tools, click Services and scroll to the bottom and make sure the WLAN AutoConfig service is started. Note: If you are using a third-party Wi-Fi manager, e.g., Intel PROSet, ThinkVantage Access Connections, etc., please disable it before following the instructions in this guide. Alternatively, you may use the third-party Wi-Fi manager to configure the settings stated in this guide. If you need help to use your third-party Wi-Fi manager, please refer to the instruction manual provided by the manufacturer. Page 3
2 Connect to Wireless@SG via SSA a) Click on Start and select Control Panel. Page 4
b) Select Network and Internet. c) Select Network and Sharing Center. Page 5
d) Click on Set up a connection or network. Page 6
e) Select Manually connect to a wireless network and click Next. Page 7
f) Enter the following information: Network name: Wireless@SGx Security type: WPA-Enterprise Encryption type: TKIP Click on Next Page 8
g) Click on Change connection settings. Page 9
h) Configure the following settings: Choose a network authentication method: Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP). Remember my credentials for this connection each time I m logged on: Check Click on Settings. Page 10
i) Configure the following Protected EAP Properties: Validate server certificate: Check Connect to these servers: Uncheck Trusted Root Certification Authorities: Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority Enable Fast Reconnect: Uncheck Click on Configure Page 11
j) Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) k) Click OK twice to return to the previous windows l) Click Advance settings Page 12
m) Ensure Specify authentication mode: is checked, and select User authentication from the drop-down box. n) Click Save credentials. In the User name box, enter your Wireless@SG username followed by @domain format. In the Password box, enter your Wireless@SG password. Click OK to save credentials. username@domain Page 13
o) Return to Network and Sharing Center. Click Connect to a network. A small window will appear. Select Wireless@SGx and click Connect. Note that you are able to see Wireless@SGx SSID only if you are in a Wireless@SGx hotspot. p) You are now connected to Wireless@SGx Page 14
3 Uninstall SSA profile Follow the steps below to remove the Wireless@SGx settings: a) Click on Start and select Control Panel. Page 15
b) Select Network and Internet. Page 16
c) Select Network and Sharing Center. Page 17
d) Click on Manage Wireless Network. e) Select Wireless@SGx and click Remove. Page 18
f) A warning dialog box will appear. Click OK. Page 19
