Coordinate the strategic, functional and technical aspects of MS Society digital projects under the guidance of the Head of Digital, including websites, microsites, mobile sites and apps and enewsletters. Identify and respond to opportunities internally that require, or would benefit from a digital component, ensuring that wider MS Society business objectives are met. Consult with internal and external stakeholders re strategic, functional and technical scoping and delivery of development projects Communicate workflow to other members of the society so that expectations can be managed internally and externally Manage digital projects both internally and with the digital agency to ensure they meet expectations and are delivered on time, to budget and to the highest quality. This includes preparing briefs and ensuring the smooth delivery of projects on time and to budget Ensure the relevance and suitability of digital activity for all MS Society audiences including: o People with or affected by MS o A wide variety of MS Professionals o Staff and volunteers o Donors and supporters o Politicians and influencers Management and development of digital platforms and marketing activity 30% Lead on day to day maintenance of the MS Society website and identify and implement updates and improvements. Run user-testing to ensure digital projects are optimised before launching to the public Managing the search strategy - 5% Manage the search strategy in collaboration with the Senior Web and Social Media Editor to ensure SEM and SEO are working together. Apply on and off page SEO ranking factors Manage the third party SEM company and the purchase of relevant keywords. Training and support for MS Society staff and volunteer web editors - 10% Educate MS Society staff and volunteers on digital opportunities and best practice Oversee the branch web editor s training programme, ensuring e- learning resources are up to date, effective and reflect best practise in terms of technology, content and accessibility in liaison with the Learning and Development HR Manager. Work with the Digital Administrator to ensure that volunteer web editors are fully supported in their roles providing training and guidance as required Ensuring accessibility across all platforms and activity - 5% Act as the MS Society s lead and in-house expert on technical aspects of online accessibility, particularly as they relate to the needs of people with MS Ensure that the MS Society s online activities meet the latest industry standards for accessibility Keep up to date with accessibility standards and best practise and ensure that knowledge is shared across the organisation Keep the MS Society s accessibility policy up to date and ensure that updates are communicated internally and via the website Analytics and reporting 20% Digital producer JD March 2013 v1-6 -
Monitor and produce regular statistical reports on site and campaign activity using Google Analytics, A/B Testing and social media monitoring tools Work with colleagues across the organisation ahead of digital campaigns to agree tracking processes and measures of success and report against these Provide statistical reports for the main website traffic against relevant departmental KPIs Take a pro-active approach to statistical monitoring, using data on trends, user behaviour, site referrals etc to help shape and inform the Society s strategic direction for digital and advise colleagues across the organisation on future online activities Keep up to date with analytics software and best practise and share learning with colleagues in the team Keep up to date with general trends in online user behaviour and share learning across the MS Society Mandatory Criteria The post holder will be working in a developing environment and he/she will therefore be expected to undertake other appropriate duties as required for the effective operation of the MS Society.
