Come find out more about clubs and sign up! STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT COUNCIL first meeting of the year will be on Wednesday September 16 th after school in C8. All members need to attend. CREATIVE MINDS All existing members of the school magazine Creative Minds, should report to Mrs. Lorenz s room (B3) after school on Wednesday, September 16 th. We will talk about and plan for next week s club sign-up event. SENIOR CLASS PHOTOS The Class of 2016 group photo will be taking place next Friday, September 18 th during period 3 (rain date Monday, Sept 21) in the stands of McDougall Stadium. Seniors should report to period 3 and after attendance has been taken, escorted to the stadium. Do your seniors have questions? Here are a few helpful bits Groups making slogans on their shirts may be no larger than 20 students. Any more and they ll have to cross the gutter of the yearbook (middle). Slogans should be appropriate for school. No abbreviations. We reserve the right to edit anything inappropriate. When designing shirts/letters, use contrasting colors. UNDERCLASSMEN PHOTOS Underclassmen Photos will be held in the Senior Lounge during periods 1-8 9 th Grade: Friday, September 18 th Social Studies teachers (Global Civ) will bring students down. Grade 10: Monday, September 21 st English teachers (English 10) will bring students down. Grade 11: Tuesday, September 22 nd Science teachers (Chemistry) will bring students down. STRATEGY CLUB Any returning member of the Strategy Club who would like to be an officer this year should see Mr. Shultz in room C-6 ATHLETICS Students planning on playing Girls Golf there will be a short meeting on Wednesday, September 16 th right after school in A21. The captains will discuss fall practices. There will be a pre-season Girls Ice Hockey meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the team on Tuesday, September 22 nd at 3:15 in the Senior Lounge. There will be a Pre-Season meeting for any interested in trying out for the Boys Ice Hockey team on Thursday, September 17 th at 3:30 in the Athletic Department Conference Room. Students planning on playing Boys Tennis in the Spring there is a mandatory program meeting, Wednesday, September 16 th at 2:30 in the Sr. lounge. MOCK TRIAL There will be a meeting for any sophomore or freshman who are interested in joining Trumbull High School Mock Trial on Thursday, September 17 th at 2:30 pm in room C10. Any interested sophomore or freshman in encouraged to
attend. If you are unable to make this meeting please see Mr. August in room C10 prior to September 17 th. SENIORS Get feedback on your college essay from a College Admissions Officer! On Thursday, October 1 st Mrs. Hamilton, Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Sacred Heart University, will review your college essay and give you feedback and tips. Anyone interested in applying for the $14,000 Weller Foundation Scholarship for an independent project needs to see Mrs. McEnaney in B House Guidance ASAP. DRIVER S EDUCATION DRIVER S ED CLASSES will begin on Monday, September 21, 2015. Registration forms are available outside the DRIVER S ED Office (opposite A1) & in the Main Office. Students must be 16 years of age to take the class. See Mr. Romano for more information. Driver s License Road Test is available at Trumbull High School scheduled by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Appointments are limited to the first 15 who register. Applicants need to have completed all requirements, by the test date, to be eligible. Fees are $75.00 payable to THS Driver Education. A minimum of 2 hours behind the wheel instruction at THS @$45.00 per hour. $40 payable to the DMV if applicant previously failed the road test. Available Dates: November 10 & 25, December 2 & 16. All paperwork must be complete before the appointment can be confirmed. All behind the wheel instruction needs to be completed by the test date. Plan Ahead!
