The steam boiler uses methane gas from a nearby landfill as the primary fuel source to fire the boiler. Natural gas is used as the secondary fuel source. Academy of Our Lady of Peace This is a Catholic, all girls school. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. engineered heating and plumbing systems to serve Saint Margaret s Hall. This is a 12,000 ft 2 classroom building which includes a 1,300 ft 2 fully equipped Locker Room with showers, water closets and lavatories. Kelsey Jenny College This educational institution is over 22,000 ft 2. San Pasqual High School Escondido, California This project was a replacement of heating and air conditioning systems. The existing H.V.A.C. systems were water source heat pumps with electric heaters. Consulting Engineers, Inc. engineered the piping and plumbing systems to accommodate the new stadium and surrounding buildings. 156 th Street Elementary School Los Angeles, California This school campus consists of six Classroom Buildings, one Administration Building and one Cafeteria. These buildings were built in 1953 with wall furnaces to heating the buildings. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. designed rooftop forced air heating and cooling systems to replace the wall furnaces in several buildings. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. also provided plumbing engineering to make the plumbing systems comply with current handicapped requirements. Southwestern College Student Center This is a 17,000 ft 2 mixed use building with an Assembly area, Game Room, Exam Rooms, Offices, Computer Room and Copy Center. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. engineered 100 tons of packaged gas fired heating and DX cooling units to heat and cool this building. The H.V.A.C. units included spring isolation roof curbs, power exhaust economizers and sound attenuators. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. also engineered the plumbing systems for this which consisted of two Public Restrooms and a Kitchen. Vista Grande Elementary School This school is 44,000 ft 2 and is occupied by 640 people. This single building consists of Classrooms, Offices, Cafeteria, Kitchen, Gymnasium, and a Library. A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. engineered a 40 ton water cooled chiller for this school. Chilled water is produced at night (or hours when the building is not in use) and stored in an underground storage tank. The chilled water from the chiller and the storage tank is then used to serve the chilled water coils in the air handler which cools the building. Jarabek Elementary School This school consists of Classrooms, Offices, Cafeteria, Kitchen, Gymnasium and a Library. A.L.M. Parks Elementary School A.L.M. Consulting Engineers, Inc. engineered a hot and chilled water system for this school facility. The chilled water system consisted of two 80 ton Trane air cooled chillers, chilled water pumps, expansion tank and air separator. The heating hot water system consisted of a 1,800,000 BTU Hi Delta hot water boiler with hot water pumps, expansion tanks and air separator. Three Trane Modular Climate Changers were engineered to provide air to the conditioned spaces. Climate changers included economizer systems to utilize cooler outdoor air when applicable. Direct Digital Control Systems were used to control the hot and chilled water systems. A.O.
