1 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2012 The school year is proving to be another year filled with exciting, much needed Measure B building projects. Facilities Planning & Construction staff is in the process of wrapping up projects that were successfully completed this summer, while other projects are being planned for summer As I look back since the passage of Measure B Bond, I am pleased to report that the Saddleback Valley Unified School District has efficiently and appropriately managed the addition, modernization and expansion of school facilities throughout the District. The existing facilities reflect the District s commitment to maintaining facilities that provide safe and effective learning environments for staff and students. Further, I am pleased to inform you that the funds generated from Measure B Bond in combination with State matching funds have made possible the successful completion of: 499 Modernized Classrooms 60 New Classrooms 11 New MUB/MPR Buildings 3 New Band Rooms 8 New Restrooms Buildings 25 New Shade Structures 24 New Playgrounds 2 New Kitchens 3 New Gymnasiums 1 New Stadium 4 New All Weather Tracks & Fields 32 Field Renovations 1 Two-Story Parking Structure 8 New Parking Lots Measure B Bond funds continue to provide the funding necessary to maintain the high level of school facilities that the community has come to expect. Over the last eight years, parents, teachers, and students have seen a great amount of building activity and are enjoying the results at every school throughout the District.
