4 3 WATER SOURCE HEAT PUMPS Minimum EER: 14 (Cooling Mode: 86ºF entering water temperature.) Minimum COP: 4.6 (Heating Mode: 68ºF entering water temperature.) Qualifying units should be installed in Water Loop applications where a boiler and/or cooling tower is utilized. Air conditioning refrigerant disposal must comply with State and Federal regulations. Rebates do not cover disposal costs. Advanced Roof Top Unit Controllers on systems greater than 7 tons may be eligible for custom rebates. Call for more information. Geothermal installations are not eligible for this rebate. Call for technical assistance. 5 5 VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES (VFDs) Eligible VFDs are 3 to 10 horsepower (HP) only. Eligible VFDs control HVAC supply fans, return fans, boiler draft fans, cooling tower fans, chilled water and heating hot water pumps. Call if the VFD is a replacement. VFDs must be new and cannot replace existing VFDs. VFDs must be controlled by an automatic signal (differential pressure, flow, or temperature). Each VFD must include a series reactor (inductor, choke) in its AC input connections. The minimum is a 3% impedance reactor, based on the HP rating of the VFD to be installed. Custom rebates and savings analysis may be available for other applications and larger systems. Call for more information. NOT eligible: forward-curve fans with inlet guide vanes, variable pitch vane-axial fans, circulation pumps with integral variable speed technology, and VFD installations required by the Vermont Commercial Energy Code. 7 9 CENTRAL WOOD PELLET BOILERS Note: Work with your contractor to ensure that your project meets all eligibility requirements. Rebates are for new, high-efficiency wood pellet boilers installed as primary central heating systems and that reduce fossil fuel usage (e.g., oil, propane, kerosene). System must include: Fuel storage capacity of at least one ton, or capacity such that the system may continuously operate for a period of at least one week; Automated fuel feed from a bulk storage container/area to the burn chamber in an integrated path; Automated on/off fuel feed control based on a demand for heat. Systems must be classified as indoor systems and installed inside. Technical assistance is available for larger system evaluation. Call for more information. Replacement of existing electric heating systems does not qualify. Replacement or expansion of existing biomass systems and/or components (including cord wood boilers) do not qualify. For guidance on replacing an existing system, call Systems must be pellet-only. 8 TERMS & CONDITIONS REBATE is for new equipment purchased and installed between July 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015 by commercial, industrial and agricultural customers of Vermont electric utilities, except that rebates are not available to the following customers: IBM, Omya, and electric utility companies. Equipment must be installed within the state of Vermont in a commercial, industrial or agricultural facility. Rebate forms must be postmarked or received by January 31, Rebate offer is subject to change without notice and may not be combined with any other offer. LIMITATIONS: This form cannot be used for any project involving more than 250 items for which rebates are sought; for information on such projects, please call Efficiency Vermont (or Burlington Electric Department for projects within the City of Burlington). This form also cannot be used for any project involving new construction within the City of Burlington, or for any project outside the City of Burlington involving new construction of greater than 10,000 sq. ft.; please call Burlington Electric Department or Efficiency Vermont, respectively, for information on such projects. PROOF OF PURCHASE: Invoice(s) must include the quantity, size, type, manufacturer, model or part number, purchase date, and vendor of the efficient equipment. All sales transactions and installations are subject to verification and inspection. The customer agrees to allow Efficiency Vermont (or, within the City of Burlington, Burlington Electric Department) access to the equipment for purposes of verification and inspection. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Performance of installed equipment is not guaranteed expressly or implicitly. ENDORSEMENT: No particular manufacturers, products, or system designs are endorsed through this program. PAYMENT: Allow 60 calendar days for delivery of payment. Incomplete or missing information will delay processing of rebate form and payment. MAXIMUM PAYMENT will not exceed 100% of the equipment purchase price. Customer is responsible for all costs associated with sales tax, installation, and disposal/recycling. Customer is responsible for any tax liability associated with rebate payment.
