2 Loni Howard, RN, MSN Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento Loni has worked for Sutter General Hospital for 30 years, primarily as an emergency department nurse. For the past 16 years she has been the emergency preparedness coordinator for Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Loni was a member of the HEICS IV (HICS) national workgroup and continues as a HICS Center for Education and Training Advisory Board member. Loni is an instructor for HICS courses and Incident Action Planning. Loni s volunteer activities include puppy raising for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Connie Lackey, RN Valley Service Area Director Emergency Preparedness/Safety/Security Providence Health & Services Connie Lackey is a registered nurse working for Providence Saint Joseph, Holy Cross and Tarzana Medical Centers. She has worked in most medical, surgical and critical care areas of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. She served as a nursing supervisor from , as disaster preparedness Coordinator from , Valley Service Area manager of emergency preparedness from She currently serves as the Valley Service Area director of emergency preparedness, safety and security. Connie participates in disaster planning as a member of the Los Angeles County Disaster Coalition Advisory Committee, is a Los Angeles County Terrorism Early Warning Group medical liaison officer and serves on national, state and local expert panels and committees.

3 Pete Plessas Environmental Risk Consultant Sutter Health Office of the General Counsel Peter Plessas is an environmental risk consultant for Sutter Health. He has worked for Sutter for 27 years, beginning at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento. After 16 years in plant operations and maintenance, Pete transitioned to Sutter Heath to utilize his talent and expertise consulting with Sutter hospitals and foundations about managing their environment of care programs. Pete is a member of the California Society of HealthCare Engineering, the National Fire Protection Association, and the American Society of HealthCare Engineering.

Determine the corresponding impacts on facility systems/processes during a failure of a key utility system. 3. Discuss planning for failure strategies and primary planning partners.
