Protecting Our Punting Profits the smart thing to do As we come off yet another winning weekend of punting with our Longshot Winners selection Sigurdardottir scoring an all the way win in the first race at Eagle Farm on Saturday at the generous odds of $21.40, we take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of protecting your punting profits. Since the inception of thoroughbred horse racing, those on the peripheral have been trying to work out ways to profit from wagering on these beautiful equine beasts. Over the years many have tried but very few have succeeded in turning their own punting formulae into a profit. Punters have meddled with many a system both by following their own methods of finding a winner or by purchasing professionals racing formulae some of which may be profitable at times and may even work well in the short term. The question remains though just how much time and effort is still needed to commit to such systems and do they perform in the long term? In the busy lifestyles that the majority of us all seem to live these days, do you seriously have the many hours that are required to study the form on a day to day basis in an endeavour to put together the many punting secret criteria s that professionals are prepared to sell to you? Or do you even have the time to study the form working to your own preferences. Longshot Winners make this process so simple that you don t even have to know anything about horse racing to make a profit using our products. Another way of trying to turn a profit punting on thoroughbred racing is by purchasing one of the many tipping selections that are available each week to the average punter to supposedly assist you in finding winners. One has to ask do any of these services actually make you money in the long term? If they do, their results should be posted on their particular website for all to see which unfortunately for the average punter, not many services are able to do. If and when a paying punter finally does find a tipping service they are completely satisfied with that is, the punter is actually making a long term profit by following their tips then it is imperative that the subscriber then assumes some responsibility in doing their utmost in the long term to protect that product, which in reality has become their own. So the question begs would you as a subscriber prefer to have a Longshot Winner paying $26 or $21? Or would you rather have a Beasley s Best Bet winner pay $6 or $5? We think we know what your answers would be after all we are in this to make a profit. Don t let the Cat out of the Bag If any of our subscribers are passing on our tips to non-subscribers then the previous scenario is exactly what could happen to our products if this ever eventuates. We believe we can control and protect our products if we know exactly how many subscribers are utilising our services. You may have heard of the punting terminology the dogs are barking used to describe a horse tip that has spread like wildfire through the betting ring on race day. These tips usually originate from someone letting the cat out of the bag and normally cause a dramatic shortening of the starting price of the particular selection. In these days of extensive radio, internet and television coverage of most horse racing in the country on
any given Saturday, these tips are then sent to all parts of the country and usually cause the starting prices of these horses to tumble within the final minutes of betting. To protect our products to protect our profits but more importantly, to protect your profits we ask you to keep our selections to yourselves as privileged subscribers of our wonderful products. This will ensure that together, we are working in the best interests of our subscribers to maximise our profitability. Racing Roundup Last Saturday we saw our Longshot Winners product producing yet again when Sigurdardottir, up in class but down in weight continued on her winning way by saluting in the first race at Eagle Farm. After taking out a Class 3 race at Doomben a fortnight earlier, the 5 y/o mare had no trouble stepping up to a Class 6 fillies and mares event where she jumped straight to the front and led all the way for a very impressive win. Starting on track at $14.00 she paid handsomely on Sportsbet returning $21.40 and $4.70 the place. If you were betting late and watching the state totes, she paid an amazing $50 on The Tote, Tasmania s state betting outlet. If you take the time and effort to shop around late, you can sometimes pick up these little treasures... it can be nerve racking stuff, but very rewarding at times. The rest of the day was quiet as the remainder of our Longshot selections were disappointing, while our Beasley's Best Bets were there abouts, but missed out on the chocolates. At Eagle Farm, our first BBB selection Sweet Reward was slow to begin. Jockey Larry Cassidy explained to the stewards that his filly was help up rounding the turn and again in the straight but in his view, she worked home extremely well once she gained a clear path. He stated that she would be better suited over more ground next preparation... one for your Black Books in the 1200-1400m range.
Another BBB selection at Eagle Farm, Norocos was held up badly in the straight and was a very unlucky second in the 3 y/o Handicap sprint over 1000m. Once again Longshot Winners turned out another winning day, although it could have easily been better... but we'll take a win over a loss any day. Changes to our Service Last week some of our subscribers who are with the mobile phone carrier Vodafone, experienced trouble in receiving their tips via SMS. This has initiated a rethink on our behalf to ensure our selections get to our members and subscribers on time. As of this week Longshot Winners will SMS our tips approximately 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled race in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. Once the tips have been sent to your mobiles, Longshot Winners will then email the selections to all of our members and subscribers. This double sending of our tips will hopefully ensure that everyone will receive their tips via one or the both avenues. Time to Subscribe With our Special Offer for November that includes free Beasley s Best Bets for the duration of your subscription, there s never been a better time to subscribe to Longshot Winners. We look forward to finding you some more winners this week. Good punting The team at Longshot Winners
