3 Wentworth Park venue guide Lower Ground Bistro with a selection of entrées, mains and desserts at very reasonable prices. NSW TAB (Totalizator/Pari-Mutuel) located at the Wattle Street end of the Bistro. Ground Floor Contains the main hive of activity on race nights with takeaway food outlets and bar facilities with ATM cash out facilities located with the TAB at the Wattle street end. Up to 4 bookmakers can be found opposite the main totaliser with odds displayed on individual bookmaker boards for Wentworth Park races. NSW TAB (Totalizator/Pari-Mutuel) located along track side wall with 3 7 windows operating, depending on demand. Secondary NSW TAB (Totalizator/Pari-Mutuel) with 1-3 windows operating depending on demand is located under escalators located at Wentworth Park Road end of building. Self operated NSW TAB machines are located around the ground level. Level 1 Our inviting open plan function centre, with catering for private functions all race night. Those on course and attending a function located on level 1 have access to NSW TAB (Totalizator/Pari-Mutuel) with 1-5 windows operating depending on demand. Out can be found in the middle of the function centre on the trackside side wall.

6 THE BETFAIR BETTING GUIDE HINTS AND TIPS FOR GREYHOUND BETTING Use Betfairs exclusive lay betting for favourites in box 5, known as the squeezebox. This is because the dog is surrounded by competitors and often struggles to find its way to the front. Use Betfair tote to box quinella the best two beginners and the best two closers in the race. This gives you a great chance to hit the quinella regularly. Early prices are often an excellent indicator as to which dogs are likely to be in the top 3. Use the early prices on Betfair to identify the favourites. Use Betfair s Exchange to back greyhounds that are down in grade from previous starts. 8 HAVING A BET WITH THE TAB AT THE TRACK TYPES OF BETS THERE ARE PLENTY OF BET TYPES YOU CAN HAVE WITH THE TAB AT THE TRACK... WIN: Pick a runner to finish 1st. PLACE: Pick a runner to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd. If there are fewer than 8 runners in a race, there is no dividend for 3rd place, except if there is a Late Scratching. Place betting not available in races with fewer than 5 runners. EACH WAY: A combined Win and Place bet. QUINELLA: Pick 1st and 2nd place in any order. EXACTA: Pick 1st and 2nd place in the exact order. DUET: Pick any 2 of the first 3 placegetters. TRIFECTA: Pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the exact order. FIRST 4: Pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the exact order. RUNNING DOUBLE: Pick the winners of any two consecutive races at the same race meeting. Include as many selections as you like in each leg. DAILY DOUBLE: Pick the winners of tonight s two feature races, as nominated by the TAB. Include as many selections as you like in each leg. QUADDIE: Pick the winners of tonight s four Quaddie races, as nominated by the TAB. Include as many selections as you like in each leg. BIG6: The BIG6 requires you to pick the winners of 6 big races nominated by the TAB. The races that make up a BIG6 may be at the same race meeting, or at different race meetings. If you pick all six winners, you win the major dividend, and there is a supplementary dividend for picking five out of six winners. Available in Flexi betting. MYSTERY BETTING: Available on every race, includes a $1 Mystery Trifecta, a $3 Mystery Box Trifecta and a $2 Mystery Quinella. When you place a Mystery bet, the TAB terminal will pick your runners, with a bias towards the favoured runners, to give you a better chance of winning. 3UP: A $3 Mystery Bet where the terminal will select three runners for a Win, Exacta and Trifecta bet. BETTING OPTIONS WHAT IS BOXING? Available on Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First 4. When you box the runners in your bet, you cover all possible combinations for the finishing order. WHAT IS A STANDOUT? Available on Quinella, Exacta, Duet, Trifecta and First 4. A standout is a single runner you pick to come in 1st place* and any of the other runners you select can fill the other places in any order. *Standout selections operate slightly different for Quinellas and Duets. Due to the nature of these bet types a Quinella standout selection can finish in the top two places while for the duet the standout selection can finish either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. WHAT IS A MULTIPLE BET? Available on Quinella, Exacta, Duet, Doubles, Trifecta, First 4, Quaddie and BIG6. A multiple bet is where you pick more than one runner in each leg of the bet. WHAT IS A ROVING BANKER? Available on Exacta, Trifecta and First 4. Select a runner as your Roving Banker, and then select other runners to fill the remaining places. The Roving Banker must finish in a place and any of your other nominated runners must fill the remaining places in any order. WHAT IS FLEXI BETTING? Available on Trifecta, First 4, Quaddie and BIG6. Flexi betting allows you to nominate the total amount you would like to spend on your bet, so you can include as many selections as you like at an outlay that suits your budget. If your bet is successful, you will collect a percentage of the full dividend. LEARNING HOW TO BET? The TAB operators are here to help! 9 HAVING A BET WITH THE TAB AT THE TRACK TAB INFORMATION The TAB provides totalisator betting (often referred to as The Tote ) for all races and has many bet types to choose from. Totalisator betting means that all punters are betting into a pool, and the pool is divided among all the successful bets. This is why the dividend/price for your runner changes up until the race jumps. HOW TO PLACE A BET WITH THE TAB 1. Decide what bets you would like to place. (If you can t decide, you can ask for a Mystery bet and the TAB computer will make the selections for you. 2. Go to one of the TAB betting windows 3. Tell the TAB operator: The location and race number of your bet The bet type you would like The runner number/s you would like to bet on The amount that you wish to spend For example, for a Quinella bet (the first two dogs past the post in any order) you would say: Melbourne Race 2, Quinella with the numbers 2 and 3, for $5 1. Repeat this process for additional bets 2. Give the operator the total $ amount of your bet/s and you make sure you check your ticket/s! HOW TO COLLECT WITH THE TAB If you are lucky enough to have a win, you ll be able to collect your winnings shortly after correct weight is announced. The dividends for each bet type will be displayed on screens throughout the racecourse so you can determine how much you have won. Simply present your winning ticket/s to any TAB operator at the track and collect your cash! Winning tickets can also be presented at any TAB for collection. SCRATCHINGS AND LATE SCRATCHINGS A scratching is when a runner is withdrawn from a race. If a runner is withdrawn after 9am on the morning of the race, this is known as a Late Scratching. BETS THAT CONTAIN A SCRATCHING There are different ways a scratched runner will affect a bet: Win/Place/Each Way bets: If a runner is scratched, all bets placed on the that runner will be refunded. Quinella/Exacta/Duet/Trifecta/First 4: If a runner is scratched, all combinations containing that runner will be refunded. Any combinations that do not contain that runner will still be live. Running Double/Daily Double/Quaddie: Any scratched runner/s will be replaced with a substitute. The substitute runner will be the favourite in win betting and will be announced by the race caller and/or advised via the TV screens throughout the racecourse. Any bets containing a scratched runner can be cancelled up to the start of the first leg. HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKET Dividends for winning bets and refunds for bets which contain a scratching can only be paid upon presentation of your original ticket. From time to tome, protests occur, so make sure you always hold on to your betting ticket until correct weight has been announced. When you present your ticket to a TAB operator, the barcode on the ticket needs to be scanned to process payment. CHECK YOUR TICKET Make sure you check your betting tickets immediately after they have been handed to you by the operator to ensure your bet is correct. CANCELLING BETS Bets which do not accurately reflect the bet you wished to place can be cancelled up to two minutes after it has been placed. Tell the operator you would like to cancel the bet and hand them your ticket. MINIMUM BET WINDOWS Some TAB windows have a minimum bet sign. The purpose of these windows is to provide a fast, efficient betting service/s. A window designated as $10 minimum bet means that no bet of less than $10 on any one ticket can be placed at that window. Think! About your choices. Call Gambling Help on Gamble Responsibly

10 Bookmakers Bookmakers are located on the ground level and offer fixed odds betting. Fixed odds betting offers you (the punter) a secure dividend, as you are securing the displayed odds at the time your bet is processed. This is different to the TAB which fluctuates right up until the official dividend is posted and depends on the flow of money received on a runner. The only time your dividend may alter to your ticket is if a greyhound is scratched after betting has commenced. If this occurs Stewards will have an oncourse announcement made. If you have any concerns or questions please ask at the Race Night office (located on ground level at the Wentworth Park Road end) and they will assist your or direct your enquiry to the betting steward. Bookmakers offer win, place and each way (win & place) betting only. Depending on the number of runners in a race Each Way betting payout may change. If you are unsure ask the bookmakers clerk. Bookmakers prices fluctuate prior to the jump, however once you have placed a bet and received your ticket, your price and dividend is secure for that bet. Your potential winnings and odds taken will often be displayed on your ticket. Always check your ticket after placing your bet. If you have had an incorrect bet processed you must see the bookmaker immediately following the bet, so check your ticket before you walk away.
