New Song Church, an Evangelical Free Church in Bolingbrook, IL, is looking for a full time Assistant Pastor. This position is being created to fill two of three part-time vacancies currently at New Song. Our goal is to identify a solid candidate and then see how our areas of need match up with his qualifications, creating the final job description around those qualifications. The three part-time positions we are trying to fill are Youth, Worship, and Adult Ministries. We plan to fill these positions by hiring the full-time Assistant Pastor to oversee two of the positions and a part-time director for the remaining vacancy. JOB DESCRIPTION: ADULT MINISTRIES Position Profile: The Assistant Pastor will serve New Song Church by creating opportunities for the members of NSC to carry out their vision of being disciple-making disciples, and providing leadership in the area of adult ministries. Relationally, the Assistant Pastor will: Report directly to the Teaching Pastor Report indirectly to the Elders Participate on the Ministry Staff Team Regularly attend and participate in the life of New Song Church The Assistant Pastor will create opportunities for the members to carry out their vision of being disciplemaking disciples by administrating, coordinating, supervising, leading and maintaining consistent teaching and teachable moments. Creating an environment where discipleship relationships are encouraged and nourished Being the consistent voice and encouragement for NSC to engage in discipleship Planning an annual Adult Sunday class calendar Overseeing Adult Sunday classes Providing resources, materials and training for the Adult Sunday class leaders Supervising, recruiting and equipping the Adult Sunday School teachers Overseeing small groups Providing resources, materials and training for small group leaders Supervising, recruiting and equipping small group leaders

JOB DESCRIPTION: YOUTH MINISTRIES Position Profile: The Youth Director will serve New Song Church by providing spiritual and organizational leadership in the Jr. and Sr. High Youth program. Relationally, the Youth Director will: Report to the Teaching Pastor Participate on the Ministry Staff Team Lead those volunteering in the Jr. and Sr. High Youth program at New Song Church Regularly attend and participate in the life of New Song Church The Youth Director will provide spiritual leadership in the Jr and Sr High Youth program by teaching, mentoring and counseling youth, parents and youth volunteers. Develop healthy relationships with our youth and their parents Maintain regular contact with our youth in order to demonstrate what a personal relationship and faithful walk with Jesus Christ looks like Teach often in Sunday School classes, Bible studies, etc. Mentor youth volunteers in their personal walk with Christ Promote Christian fellowship and spiritual growth among our youth Equip and encouraging our youth to lead others to Jesus Assist in equipping parents as they seek to disciple their youth Maintain regular contact with parents to inform them of upcoming events and inquiring how to best serve them and their youth Visit and counsel within the scope of these responsibilities The Youth Director will provide organizational leadership in the Jr and Sr High Youth program by developing, coordinating, and administrating an effective and comprehensive program. Plan the teaching curriculum with the input and assistance of the Youth Volunteers and Teaching Pastor Schedule special events and activities that engage the youth, and enable them to reach out to friends and neighbors by inviting them to such events Develop and administer the youth ministry budget Recruit and train leaders who will work within the youth ministry Coordinate and supervise all youth activities, missions trips, ministry events Find ways to have the youth ministry creatively involved in carrying out NSC s vision

Relationally, the Worship Director will: Report to the Teaching Pastor Participate on the Ministry Staff Team Participate on the Creative Team Lead those interested in volunteering musically at New Song Church Regularly attend and participate in the life of New Song Church The Worship Director will provide leadership in the area of corporate worship by administrating, coordinating, supervising, leading and maintaining a consistent and quality worship atmosphere. Planning, organizing, directing and leading the total music and worship ministry of NSC Working with our volunteer musicians and leaders to lead worship on Sunday mornings Assisting the Teaching Pastor in the preparation of worship services that are consistent with New Song s philosophy of worship Overseeing the scheduling of worship team members and members of associated teams Participating in the planning and leading of special services such as those occurring around Christmas and Easter Overseeing the volunteer technicians to ensure consistent and quality presentation happens in each service Maintaining a regular catalog of new music to be introduced to the congregation on a regular basis The Worship Director will promote a healthy team environment among the participants in the worship ministry by implementing an effective strategy of recruiting, training and mentoring those involved in the weekly corporate worship.
