Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon ble Minister for MSMEs, Government of India releasing the Brochure of CII Global SME Business Summit 2014 on 16 June 2014 in New Delhi. (L-R) Mr Deep Kapuria, Immediate Past Chairman, CII National SME Council and Co - Chairman, CII National Trade Fair Council; Mr Madhav Lal, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Government of India; Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon ble Minister for MSMEs, Government of India; Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII; Mr T T Ashok, Co Chairman, CII National SME Council Background Small and Medium Businesses account for to 50% of the GDP in the developed countries creating 45% of overall employment opportunities. In this globalised economy, SMEs are significant drivers of growth, job creation, competition and innovation. There is an urgent need to integrate the SMEs to the global value chain which will help this sector to take them to the next level thereby enabling to create more employment opportunities resulting in the increased sectoral contribution to the National GDP. SMEs throughout the globe play an important role for the growth of every Nation and contribute immensely to the industrial development and output, exports, forex earnings and creation of employment opportunities. They constitute more than 90% of all enterprises in most of the countries and employ more than one third of the total working population in emerging economies. They are also the driving force behind large number of innovations, stimulate private ownership, entrepreneurial skills and help diversify economic activity. Globalization and subsequent opening up of various economies have created plenty of opportunities for the SMEs; however, at the same time it has given rise to a number of challenges. The challenging global markets and highly integrated economies have imposed the necessity of coping up with local and international competitors. In this highly integrated global economy, SMEs are faced with two fold problems: On one hand they face severe asset constraints and limitations on their access to critical resources which restrict their capacity to compete in the competitive global environment; on the other hand their local advantage is being wiped off by powerful international organizations capturing their local markets and niches. i`"bhkwfe fodflr ns'kksa esa y?kq vksj e>ksys dkjksckj ldy?kjsyw mrikn esa (GDP) esa 50% dk va'knku djrs gsa vksj lexz :i ls 45% jkstxkj voljksa dk fuekz.k djrs gsaa bl osf'od vfkzo;olfkk esa] SMEs méfr] jkstxkj fuekz.k] ÁfrLi/kkZ vksj vfhkuork ds dkqh egùoiw.kz Ásjd gsaa SMEs dks osf'od osy;w psu esa,dhñr fd, tkus dh rkrdkfyd vko';drk gs ftlls bl {ks= dks vxys Lrj ij ys tkus esa enn feysxh ftlls jkstxkj ds vf/kd voljksa dk l`tu gksxk vksj ifj.kkelo:i jk"vªh; GDP esa bl {ks= ls vf/kd va'knku feysxka iwjs fo'o esa SMEs gj&,d jk"vª dh méfr esa,d egùoiw.kz Hkwfedk fuhkkrs gsa vksj vks ksfxd fodkl,oa mriknu] fu;kzr] fons'kh eqnzk vk; vksj jkstxkj ds voljksa ds fuekz.k esa Hkkjh va'knku djrs gsaa vf/kdka'k ns'kksa esa lhkh m eksa esa budh 90% ls vf/kd fgllsnkjh gs vksj mnh;eku vfkzo;olfkkvksa esa dqy dkedkth vkcknh ds,d&frgkbz ls vf/kd fglls dks jkstxkj Ánku djrs gsaa ;s vusd uoksriknksa ds ihns ekstwn Ásjd cy Hkh gsa] futh LokfeRo,oa m e'khyrk dks'kyksa dks mrásfjr djrs gsa vksj vkffkzd dkedkt dk fofo/khdj.k djus esa enn djrs gsaa osf'odhdj.k gksus vksj ifj.kkelo:i fofhké vfkzo;olfkkvksa ds [kqyus ls SMEs {ks= esa cm+h rknkn esa volj iznku gqvk gs( bl nksjku blus vusd pquksfr;ksa dks Hkh tue fn;k gsa pquksrhiw.kz osf'od cktkj vksj vr;f/kd,dhñr vfkzo;olfkkvksa us LFkkuh; vksj varjkz"vªh; ÁfrLif/kZ;ksa dk lkeuk djus dh t:jr Fkksi nh gsa bl vr;f/kd,dhñr osf'od vfkzo;olfkk esa] SMEs ds lkeus nksrjqk lel;k,a ekstwn gsa%,d vksj mugsa ifjlaifùk;ksa dh fodv raxh vksj vr;ko';d lalk/kuksa rd mudh igqap ij Áfrca/kksa dk lkeuk djuk im+rk gs ftlls ÁfrLi/khZ osf'od okrkoj.k esa ÁfrLi/kkZ djus dh mudh {kerk lhfer gks tkrh gs( nwljh vksj rkdroj varjkz"vªh; laxbuksa }kjk muds LFkkuh; cktkj vksj vkyk txgsa gm+i fy, tkus ds dkj.k muds LFkkuh; gksus dh Js"Brk lekir gks jgh gsa

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industrymanaged organization, playing a proactive role in India's development process. Founded in 1895, India's premier business association has over 7200 members, from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 100,000 enterprises from around 242 national and regional sectoral industry bodies. CII charts change by working closely with Government on policy issues, interfacing with thought leaders, and enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and business opportunities for industry through a range of specialized services and strategic global linkages. It also provides a platform for consensus-building and networking on key issues. Extending its agenda beyond business, CII assists industry to identify and execute corporate citizenship programmes. Partnerships with civil society organizations carry forward corporate initiatives for integrated and inclusive development across diverse domains including affirmative action, healthcare, education, livelihood, diversity management, skill development, empowerment of women, and water, to name a few. The CII theme of Accelerating Growth, Creating Employment for 2014-15 aims to strengthen a growth process that meets the aspirations of today s India. During the year, CII will specially focus on economic growth, education, skill development, manufacturing, investments, ease of doing business, export competitiveness, legal and regulatory architecture, labour law reforms and entrepreneurship as growth enablers. With 64 offices, including 9 Centres of Excellence, in India, and 7 overseas offices in Australia, China, Egypt, France, Singapore, UK, and USA, as well as institutional partnerships with 312 counterpart organizations in 106 countries, CII serves as a reference point for Indian industry and the international business community. duqsmjs'ku vkwq bafm;u bamlvªh (lh vkbz vkbz) lykgdkj vksj ijke'kznk=h ÁfØ;kvksa ds ek/;e ls Hkkjr ds fodkl] lk>snkjh m ksx] ljdkj vksj ukxfjd lekt ds fy, ennxkj ekgksy dk fuekz.k djus,oa mls nh?kzdkyhu cukus ds fy, dke djrk gsa lh vkbz vkbz,d xsj&ljdkjh] ykhk&fujis{k] m ksx }kjk funszf'kr vksj m ksx }kjk lapkfyr laxbu gs tks Hkkjr dh fodkl ÁfØ;k esa,d lfø; Hkwfedk fuhkkrk gsa 1895 esa LFkkfir] Hkkjr ds fof'k"b O;olk;h la?k ds futh vksj lkoztfud {ks=ksa ls 7200 ls vf/kd lnl; gsa ftuesa SMEs vksj MNCs 'kkfey gsa] vksj 242 jk"vªh; vksj {ks=h; {ks=d vks ksfxd fudk;ksa ls 100,000 ls vf/kd m eksa dh vár;{k lnl;rk gsa lh vkbz vkbz uhfrxr elyksa ds laca/k esa ljdkj ds lkfk utnhdh ls dke djds] 'kh"kz usrkvksa ds lkfk ckrphr djds] vksj ukuk Ádkj dh fo'ks"khñr lsokvksa vksj uhfrxr osf'od fyadst ds ek/;e ls dq'kyrk] ÁfrLi/kkZRedrk,oa O;olkf;d voljksa dk lao/kzu djds ifjorzu dk ekxz lk/; cukrk gsa viuh dk;zlwph dks O;olk; ls vkxs c<+krs gq,] lh vkbz vkbz dkjiksjsv ukxfjdrk dk;zøeksa dh igpku,oa fø;kuo;u djus esa lgk;rk djrk gsa ukxfjd lekt lalfkkvksa ds lkfk lk>snkfj;ka fofo/k {ks=ksa esa] ftuesa ldkjkred dkjzokbz] LokLF; ns[khkky] f'k{kk] thfodk] fofo/krk Áca/ku] dks'ky lao/kzu] efgykvksa dk l'kdrhdj.k] vksj ty vkfn 'kkfey gsa],dhñr vksj lekos'kh fodkl ds fy, dkjiksjsv dh igydnfe;ksa dks vkxs c<+krh gsaa o"kz 2014-15 esaa lh vkbz vkbz }kjk ^fodkl esa rsth] jkstxkj dk fuekz.k* fo"k; dk y{;,slh izxfr dks mtkxj djuk gs tks vkt ds Hkkjr dh vkdka{kkvksa dks iwjk djsa o"kz ds nksjku] lh vkbz vkbz Áxfr esa lgk;rk djus okys dkjdksa & vkffkzd fodkl] f'k{kk] dks'ky fodkl] fofuekz.k] fuos'k] dkjksckj djus dh lgwfy;r] fu;kzr ÁfrLi/kkZRedrk] fo/kk;h,oa fofu;ked O;oLFkk] Je dkuwu esa lq/kkjksa vksj m e'khyrk ij fo'ks"k rksj ij dsfunzr djsxka Hkkjr esa dqy 64 dk;kzy; ftlesa 9 lsavj vkwq, dlhysal lfgr vklvªsfy;k] phu] felz] Ýkal] flaxkiqj] ;w-ds-,oa ;w-,l-,- esa 7 fons'kh dk;kzy; 'kkfey gsa vksj 106 ns'kks aesa 312 led{k laxbuksa esa lkalfkkfud lk>snkfj;ksa ds lkfk lh vkbz vkbz Hkkjrh; m ksx vksj varjkz"vªh; dkjksckjh leqnk; ds lanzhkz esa lsok Ánku djrk gsa ConfederationofIndianIndustry The Mantosh Sondhi Centre 23, Institutional Area, Lodi Road, New Delhi 110 003 (India) T: 91 11 45771000 / 24629994-7 F: 91 11 24626149 E: info@cii.in W: www.cii.in Follow us on: facebook.com/followcii twitter.com/followcii www.mycii.in Reach us via our Membership Helpline: 00-91-11-435 46244 / 00-91-99104 46244 CII Helpline Toll free No: 1800-103-1244
