Welcome to the E.ON IBU World Cup Biathlon 2014 in Holmenkollen We are pleased to invite all IBU members to Holmenkollen, Oslo 17 th to 23 rd of March 2014, for the World Cup final of the 2013/2014 season. This will be an important season for all of you, with the Olympic Games in Sochi as the main goal. The OC in Holmenkollen appreciate that we have been selected to host the World Cup final, and we work hard to continue with the good development that has been achieved over the last years. The competitions in Holmenkollen will not just mark the end of an Olympic season; several great biathletes have also announced that this will be their last World Cup event in their carrier. We hope that this fact will make the competitions even more attractive for the spectators, and that the competition days in Holmenkollen will give the retiring athletes memorable moments to look back at. The final in Holmenkollen will also mark the beginning of a new era and it represents an important platform for the organizers of the 2016 World Championships. A.5 Liability and Insurance All participants must have adequate accident, health and liability insurance. When submitting the entry by names, the National Federation confirms that all entered persons are covered by the required insurance for personal and material damages. The organizers can not be held liable for personal or material damage, including liability vis-á-vis a third party. A.6 Accreditation and Registration The accreditation office is located on the 2 nd floor at Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica (entrance via the hotel reception) and it will be open from Monday 17 th to Sunday 23 rd of March 2014. Upon arrival, all teams are expected to report to the accreditation office. Parking cards will be handed out at the Service building. Athletes and officials of a National Federation outside the EEA, who bring firearms, must fill in a customs application and present it to the custom authorities in Norway (Appendix A). The import of rifle and ammunition to Norway is free of charge. Rifle regulations: A regulation concerning storage of rifles has been introduced in Norway, valid as of July 1 st 2010. The action of the rifle must be stored apart from the rifle in a safe. The action of the rifle and the rifle should not be stored in the same room. A.8 Import of Medicine Travelers from EEA countries may bring a maximum of one year s supply of legally purchased non-narcotic medicine. Travelers from outside the EEA may enter a maximum of three month s supply of legally purchased non-narcotic medicine. Travelers must be able to demonstrate that the medicine has been prescribed for personal use. There are various rules for entry of medicines, enhancement and supplements, but it is the classification by Norwegian legislation that determines which entry rules to follow. A.9 Visa Regulations Shengen-visa is valid in Norway. The following IBU member federations require a VISA for entering Norway: ALG, ARM, BLR, CHN, GEO, GUM, IND, IRI, KAZ, KGZ, LIB, MAR, MDA, MGL, PUR, RUS, TPE, UKR, UZB Please contact the nearest Norwegian Embassy for further information concerning visa applications. Please send requests for invitations of persons who are not member of the team exclusively to the Norwegian Biathlon Association, post@biathlon-holmenkollen.no, no later than February 20 th 2014. B. LOGISTICS B.1 Accommodation All accommodation is arranged by the OC. All nations will be accommodated at Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica: www.holmenkollenparkhotel.no. Booking is binding by sending the entry by names before March 3 rd 2014. Please note: Adjustments, changes or cancellations made after March 3 rd 2014, as well as no-shows, will be charged the responsible federation. The whole reservation must be paid for. In case your team is in need of an attaché, please contact us by e-mail: post@biathlon-holmenkollen.no For questions/assistance regarding your accommodation, please contact us: post@biathlon-holmenkollen.no B.2 Accommodation Expense Reimbursement Expense reimbursement for the best 25 male and best 25 female biathletes is granted by the Organizing Committee of Holmenkollen for Category B (7 nights maximum), under IBU rules, Part 3, par. 15.1.3. The eligible sum will be subtracted from the total invoice for accommodation. B.3 Transportation The OC offers a free pick up service for the teams between Oslo Airport Gardermoen and the hotel, but this requires that the OC receives updated flight info 24 hours before arrival at the latest. Transportation to/from social events is also free of charge, according to schedules. Required transport shall be requested from the transport office no later than 20.00 the previous day. There will be no transportation between the hotel and the stadium. The stadium is located 300m from the hotel. Car parking possibilities around Holmenkollen venue are highly limited. Cost will be charged the nation after the event.
B.7 Price Money To receive price money, the athlete is responsible for providing the Competition Office with correct bank wiring information (account number, name of the bank, SWIFT code, IBAN). The athlete must report in person to the Competition Office and sign the prize money form, no later than Sunday 23 rd of March, 17.00. B.8 Fitness Center Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica offers spa and fitness center, swimming pool and sauna. Opening hours: Monday Sunday 07.00-22.00.
