1 Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives Groupement National Carpe June 15, 2009 For the National Federation Members of the FIPSed The French Federation of Sport Fishing, and the National Group Carp, members of the F.I.P.S.e.d (International Federation of Fishing in Fresh Water) have the honor and the privilege of organizing the 11th World Carp Angling Championships, which will take place from the 20th to the 25th of October on the UBY Lake in France. For this 11th occurrence of the Championships, we wished to welcome our friends and competitors as well as the international staffs in one of France s most beautiful area, a land rich in traditions and culture. We did everything in order for your stay in our country to be the most enjoyable. Our only desire is for you to like it here, and to want to come back to France. The local traditional gastronomy, the Armagnac vineyards and the dynamic fish of the UBY Lake are waiting for you for this wonderful and prestigious competition. The towns of Cazaubon and Barbotan-les-Thermes, in the Gers province and the Région Midi Pyrénées, have also done all they could for everything to be ready to welcome you during this major international event, in spite of the terrible storm that occurred in January, which interfered with the organization of the Championships. We are looking forward to your visit, and hope to see you all in October so we can live and share together this celebration of our fishing.
