FHS Counselor Newsletter FEF Scholarship Application Deadline is Friday at 5pm: Attention Families of the Class of 2015 Graduating Frisco ISD high school seniors are eligible to apply for hundreds of college scholarship opportunities managed by the Frisco Education Foundation. The application is available online at. The deadline to submit the application is Friday, December 19 at 5 p.m. Late or un-submitted applications will not be accepted. The Foundation provides or facilitates thousands of dollars' worth of college scholarships each year on behalf of individuals, non-profit organizations and businesses in the community. Nearly $3.2 million has been awarded to more than 3,400 graduating seniors since the Foundation's inception 15 years ago. Also, please have your student verify the email addresses they use or have used to request letters of recommendations, as FEF is receiving hundreds of bounce backs. Scholarship Opportunities: 1. The first scholarship is "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship. This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited postsecondary school or college. Interested students can visit this link http://www.fashion-schools.org/ and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page and click on it. 2. The 2nd Scholarship is the "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program. This is the 4th year we are awarding this scholarship for AnimationCareerReview.com. We are offering high school seniors the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. We ask that you have interested students visit our website, http://www.animationcareerreview.com/ to find eligibility information along with the online application. The deadline for both scholarships is June 1, 2015. New SAT Practice for Freshmen and Sophomores C2 Education Frisco Center will be hosting a free testing event to celebrate the Holidays. Students in 9th and 10 grades will have the opportunity to take a practice test for the New SAT. University of Tulsa Information The University of Tulsa will be conducting scholarship interviews on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Our scholarship deadline is February 1. The LSU Spring Invitational Program s testing sessions, orientation programs, scheduling privileges, and social activities provide significant benefits. Program Invitation Requirements The LSU Spring Invitational Program is limited to invited students only. Participants must meet the qualifications listed below to receive an invitation. Invitation postcards and emails will be sent around the third week in January! Please do not attempt to register for the program until you receiver an invitation via email. Your official SAT or ACT score(s) must be on file with the LSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Student Aid. NOTE: The SAT required score is calculated from a student s combined Math and Verbal SAT scores. Level 1: 3.20 academic GPA and either an SAT total score of 1250 or greater or an ACT composite score of 28 or greater. Level 2: 2.90 academic GPA and either an SAT total score of 1250 or greater or an ACT composite score of 28 or greater. Level 3: 3.20 academic GPA and either an SAT total score of 1210 or greater or an ACT composite score of 27 or greater. The online reservation deadline is March 17, 2015. Admission to LSU To participate in the Spring Invitational Program, you must be accepted for admission to LSU. Your online reservation form for the LSU Spring Invitational Program cannot be processed until you have been admitted by LSU s Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Student Aid. To attend the LSU Spring Invitational Program, LSU must have your official SAT or ACT score(s) on file.
