ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE IOM is committed to the principle that safe and orderly migration is a benefit to migrants and society, and is essential for achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. As a global intergovernmental organization, IOM supports governments to effectively manage the various challenges related to migration, and also provides assistance to migrants. In the health sector, this involves acting as a technical agency to address national priorities and as an implementing agency which partners with government, communities, and other agencies to strengthen health systems to meet the needs of hard to reach mobile populations, migrants, and their local host communities. Within the context of promoting safer migration, IOM s Eastern Myanmar health programme is comprised of several projects that extend the reach of government health systems to locations which host internal migrants and are also transit, source, and return communities for international migrants. IOM s programme involves close partnership with government counterparts and builds capacity of partners and migrant hosting communities for health promotion, diagnostics, referral, treatment, and for extension of service delivery to vulnerable groups. The comprehensive package addresses key health challenges faced by migrants, including maternal and child health, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and in some locations primary care. Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office in Myawaddy and the direct 1

4 supervision of the Drop In Center (DIC) supervisor in close coordination with other functional unit of Myawaddy Sub Office, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities: III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Give warm and smiling reception to health care seekers of any kind of FSW & MSM with no stigma 2. Register the eligible patients, keep accurate records 3. Take charge of the patients files and booklets keeping them secure and in good condition, arranging or managing them for counseling sessions or consultations while maintaining confidentiality of the patients 4. Facilitate and direct patients triage and flow in DIC according to the procedure and ensure the patients follow the infection control procedures in the clinics 5. Explain to the non eligible patients the objectives of the clinic and refer them to appropriate places in Myawaddy (OPD, MCH ward, TH, IOM main clinic ) or to appropriate teams if required. 6. Responsible of opening and closing as well as the supervision of cleaner and security guard of DIC. 7. Inform about opening hours and about IOM main Clinic in the areas. 8. Inform the medical team about health care seekers or patients waiting 9. Responsibilities for blood and others samples sending to Myawaddy hospital and IOM Mawlamying if needs or duty assign by DIC supervisor and Medical Doctor. 10. Take in charge IEC distribution for waiting health care seekers 11. Facilitate the work of Social Mobilization Coordinator, Medical Doctor on request 12. Reporting with soft copy and responsible to do reporting and data related to registration area with computer / prepare monthly DIC reports especially regarding information of health care seekers at DIC. 13. Assist in general maintenance of DIC 14. Maintain principles of confidentiality and privacy 15. Participate in the food ration distribution if in needs (registration and health education of the patients) 16. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor. IV. 6 Myanmar national. Minimum of 2 years related work experience and Work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non government or government Institutions/organization in a multi cultural setting is an advantage. High School Graduate, (University degree is preferable) supplemented by courses in Pharmacy and logistics. VI. LANGUAGES Required Good understanding English language Computer literate Advantageous Able to speak local languages would be considered as an advantage. Local residents are encouraged to apply 4
