1 Professional Program in (PRMG) The objective of the professional program in project management is to train engineers and other individuals to become project managers and to develop modern techniques in this field. Program Requirements To complete the requirements of the Professional Certificate in, the candidate must successfully complete 6 courses and present an acceptable project. Four of the courses are required and must be taken by all candidates: (PRMG 010, PRMG 015, PRMG 020, PRMG 025, PRMG 030 & PRMG 080) while the other remaining courses; one can be selected from PRMG, and courses in other professional programs according to individual interest. Each of the courses is one semester which is equivalent to 45 hours of instruction. The certificate requirements can be completed in two semesters (one year) but those who can not afford the time may take up to 3 years. Registration Fee The registration fee is L.E. 1,650 per course for Egyptians & $ 600 per course for Non-Egyptians. Fees for PRMG 075 & PRMG 090 are L.E. 3,150 per course for Egyptians & $950 for Non- Egyptians. The fees can either be paid in cash or by check payable to A.U.C. Nomination letters from companies are accepted. 2 PRMG 015: HR for Identify the skill sets that effective project leaders must possess in order to be successful Determine what team members look for in an effective project leader. Foster collaboration by promoting cooperative goals and mutual trust Cultivate trusting relationships and in turn, motivate the team toward success Explain the role of a project manager, the different skills a manager requires at the different levels, and the challenges that managers face. Explain the steps of decision making. Discuss the factors and issues affecting a project manager s as a decision maker and a problem solver. Describe the approaches to establishing goals and developing plans. Explain the strategic management process. Understand the communication process. Discuss the factors affecting organizational communication. Understand how to build an effective groups and teams. Acquire a comprehensive understanding of specific areas in HRM and its applications. Familiarize students with the current and future HRM issues which are relevant in Egypt. Discuss with students different organizational behaviour topics such as stress and time management, procrastination, dealing with difficult people at work..etc. PRMG 020: Management of Project Resources Introduction Critical project resources Materials management: planning and control; procurement and acquisition, costs; production planning systems Human resources management: manpower planning and organization; job description and evaluation; recruiting and training; theories of motivation; labour relations, time management Equipment management: equipment selection, cycle time; matching plants; owning and operating costs.
