The 53-point win over Philadelphia was the largest margin of victory by one opponent over another since the Lakers beat the Cavaliers by 55 (112-57) at the STAPLES Center on 1/11/11. Dallas never trailed at any point (there were no ties) and held a 28-point advantage (38-10) after one. It marked a franchise record for the largest lead after one quarter of play. The previous high first-quarter margin was 24 (Dallas led after one quarter vs. Cleveland on 11/15/86 and went on to win ; Dallas also led vs. Detroit on 11/19/05 and went on to win ). The Mavericks built a big lead early, and it would only grow from there. The Mavericks produced two games with 70-plus points in the paint in , after they had just one such game since the NBA began tracking the statistic in (76 vs. the L.A. Clippers 4/4/02). CRAZY COMEBACK: The Mavericks pulled off an improbable comeback against the Blazers on 2/7/15. Dallas trailed by 11 (94-83) with under 2 minutes to go in regulation, but closed the fourth quarter on a 13-2 run (capped off by a Dirk Nowitzki 3-pointer with 20.9 seconds left) to tie the game at 96 and force overtime.
