2 The World s game in the USA The U.S. soccer community is currently at 65 million participants, including youth and adult players, fans, and volunteers. 14 million children between the ages of 6-17 play soccer. Between the ages of 10-15, two out of every three U.S. kids play soccer at least once per month! Soccer is the No. 1 sport among Hispanics from Mexico and Central and South America and is a cultural cornerstone for most European, African, and Asian communities.

3 major league soccer Founded in 1996, Major League Soccer is a league of continuous growth. It has expanded from ten teams to its current 19 teams. Ownership has also increased from a small nucleus to now 17 owners for 19 clubs. In addition, 13 soccer-specific stadiums have been built for MLS teams with the San Jose Earthquakes recently getting approval to build a stadium of their own.
