2 MITCHELL ETESS Governor Born into a family of hoteliers, Mitchell Grossinger Etess brings literally a lifetime of experience in the hospitality industry to his role as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Mohegan Sun. Etess joined Mohegan Sun as a member of the casino s pre-opening team in 1996 and is responsible for food and beverage, entertainment and hotel operations. Prior to his position at Mohegan Sun, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Players IslandResort Casino Spa in Nevada. From 1988 to 1994, Etess was employed at Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, rising through the ranks from Public Relations Manager to Senior Vice President of Marketing. Before that, Etess was a partner in the advertising and public relations firm of Gordon Etess Associates in Pinehurst, North Carolina after serving as General Manager at CCA/Holly Inn in Pinehurst. Prior to 1985, Etess worked in virtually every capacity and finally as General Manager at his family sgrossinger s Hotel in Grossinger, New York. It was here that Etess, who was raised at the hotel, got his early training in the hospitality industry. A graduate of New York City s Columbia University, Etess resides in Old Lyme, Connecticut with his wife Karen and his two children. JEFFREY HARTMAN Alternate Governor Jeffrey E. Hartmann, Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Mohegan Sun, has been with the legendary destination since December In his current position, he is responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting to the Securities Exchange Commission, and bondholder and banking relations. In addition, he oversees Mohegan Sun s information systems, as well as its table games, slots, poker and Race Book. Hartmann has eight years of experience in the casino and hotel industry. Prior to joining the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, he served as Vice President of Finance for Foxwoods Management Company from August 1991 to December A certified public accountant, Hartmann was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, as an Audit Manager from 1984 to

3 TEAM PAUL MUNICK President As Vice President of Sports and Entertainment for Mohegan Sun, Paul Munick overseas the business affairs, operations and marketing for Mohegan Sun s three entertainment venues: the Mohegan Sun Arena, Cabaret Theatre and Wolf Den. Munick has been instrumental in bringing world class sporting events, many of which have been nationally televised, to the Mohegan Sun Arena, including championship boxing, college and professional men s and women s basketball, indoor lacrosse,arena Football, tennis and professional bull riding. He has also secured world-renowned performers such as Tim McGraw, Cher, Janet Jackson, Bon Jovi, the Eagles, Aerosmith and others to perform in Connecticut s premier entertainment venue. In 2002, the Mohegan Sun Arena was nominated by POLLSTAR as the Best New Concert Venue in the country. Munick is the President of the Connecticut Sun, the WNBA s newest professional women s basketball franchise, which is owned and operated by Mohegan Sun and calls Mohegan Sun Arena home. In this position, Munick is responsible for all facets of team operations, marketing and finance. Prior to joining Mohegan Sun, Munick served as vice president of athletics and entertainment at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In this role, he was involved in the development and expansion of all business initiatives, including contract negotiations, operations, marketing, sponsorship and television. Munick was responsible for a wide variety of national events at Madison Square Garden, such as the Goodwill Games, NFL Draft, Millrose Track & Field Championships, Big East Championship and the Women s Tennis Association s Chase Championships where he served as Tournament Director. In this position, he also directed the Arena s family entertainment events and in 1995, reestablished the professional boxing program at Madison Square Garden. Munick holds a master s degree in sports administration from Ohio University and a bachelor s degree in economics from Stony Brook University. A native New Yorker, he currently resides in Berkeley Heights, NJ with his wife and two daughters. 11

4 CHRISTOPHER SIENKO General Manager Chris Sienko has been with Mohegan Sun since He currently holds the role of General Manager for the Connecticut Sun, managing the day-to-day business functions of the franchise and overseeing all aspects of the team s basketball operations, including player contracts and personnel moves for the team. In addition to his role as GM for the Sun, Sienko also directs all sporting events for the property, including championship boxing, wrestling, men s and women s college and professional basketball, bowling, billiards and more. Sienko, who specializes in profit and loss management, strategic partnerships, online and traditional marketing, direct and channel distribution, integrated marketing strategies and client relationship management brings a wealth of experience to the Connecticut Sun. Prior to joining Mohegan Sun, Sienko was an integral part in the start up of another professional sports team, the ABL s New England Blizzard, where he served as vice president of marketing, then general manager. He also was president of the Arthur Robert Group, a small advertising agency in Connecticut for eight years, before becoming vice president of marketing for thepit.com, which was successfully sold to Topps, Inc. in Holding senior level positions with each of the organizations he has worked, his experience and guidance have brought in millions of dollars in revenues, new business and long-lasting partnerships. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Sienko lives in Newington, Connecticut with his family. 12

Thibault entered the NBA ranks in 1978 as a scout for the Los Angeles Lakers, and was promoted to director of scouting and assistant coach in 1980.The Lakers won two World Championships (1980, 1982) during his tenure. From , he was an assistant coach and director of scouting for the Chicago Bulls during a period in which the Bulls acquired John Paxson and drafted Charles Oakley and Michael Jordan. From ,Thibault was the general manager and head coach of the Calgary 88 s of the World Basketball League (WBL), earning WBL Coach of the Year honors in In 1989,Thibault began a remarkable eight-year run as general manager and head coach of The CBA s Omaha Racers.The Racers made the playoffs each season ( ) under his watch, bringing home a CBA title in Thibault was named 1993 Sportsman of the Year by the Omaha sportscasters, and ranks sixth on the CBA all-time coaching victory list (236). In March of 1995, he coached the silver medal-winning USA National Team at the Pan American Games, and in August of 1993, he served as head coach of the gold medal-winning USA National Team at the World Championship Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico. He spent the season as a scout for the Seattle Sonics. Mike and his wife, Nanci, have two children, Eric Dean and Carly Ann. 13

6 ASSISTANT COACHES SCOTT HAWK 46, brings more than 20 years of coaching experience in men s and women s basketball to the Connecticut Sun. For the past 13 years he has served as the Director of the Omaha Crusaders, a 501 C3 non-profit corporation created to benefit young people of Nebraska and western Iowa and the parent organization of one of the largest high school summer basketball programs in Nebraska. Since 1980, Hawk has served as a teacher, head coach and assistant basketball coach in top high school programs in Omaha including his alma mater Omaha Creighton Prepatory High School, Plattsmouth High School, Omaha Cathedral High School and Bellevue West High School. His coaching record includes two Nebraska State Championship titles and Coach of the Year Awards. Hawk earned a masters in educational technology from Lesley University and a bachelor of science from The University of Nebraska (Omaha). Hawk will join the team immediately. He currently resides in Omaha and will move to the area with his wife and two daughters. BERNADETTE MATTOX 43, has 18 years of Division I and international level coaching experience including the past eight seasons as head coach of the University of Kentucky women s team. Mattox will come on board with the Connecticut Sun full time immediately. Mattox was named the first female Division I assistant bench coach for a men s team in 1990 and spent four years with Coach Rick Pitino and the Kentucky Wildcats, including an NCAA Final Four appearance in During her four seasons, the team also amassed an impressive record. Mattox graduated from the University of Georgia, where she was an outstanding player, earning the school s first All-American player designation. After graduating she spent five years as an assistant and top recruiter to coach Andy Landers and two years as a graduate assistant. Mattox currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky and will move to the area with her husband and son. 14
