1 Information about Registration at Deegan Hall West (Registration Monday, July 28 th, 8:30am to 9am) Registration will take place at Deegan Hall West (check in will take place every morning at the same place and same time). Please see campus map on page 3. At registration the campers will get a camp t-shirt and a camp soccer ball to keep (Please us the shirt size). Please note that we cannot guarantee that the camp T-shirts will be ready if ordered after Friday 7/18 ( Stefano Franciosa at sfranciosa@comcast.net). Also, we will not be able to exchange the size of the t-shirt from what you ordered. TIME: Registration (8:30am to 9am) PLACE: Registration will take place at Deegan Hall West (1 st floor) REMINDER, please bring the following documentation to registration: 1. Copy of immunization record 2. Physical (12 months old or less) including a note from the doctor stating that the camper is fit for activities 3. Completed sunscreen protection/ medicine administration /pick-up & drop off/ form (provided by ) Information about parking Parents dropping off or picking up campers can park in the parking lot in front of Cascia Hall. See campus map on page 3. Information about lunch Lunch is included in the tuition and will be served in the cafeteria at Merrimack College (Cafeteria is located in Sakowitch Campus Center Building, see map on page 3). Lunch time is 12pm to 1pm. The cafeteria food is diverse and should cater to many different food preferences. Information about Fields We will use the stadium field at Merrimack College (artificial grass) as well as grass fields. Please bring outdoor cleats and turf shoes. 4 Addendum: Bios for Coaches Stefano Franciosa is Founder/President of North Shore United, and Owner/Director North Shore United Soccer Camp. Franciosa s coaching background is extensive, encompassing elite youth to include Region 1 Coach and ODP coach. He was Head Coach for Newbury and Endicott Colleges as well as Assistant Coach at Bentley and Boston College. Stefano held the Head Coach position of the NH Phantoms a semi-professional team of the PDL. Stefano returned to the North Shore this past fall after a successful year with Ekenas FI, a professional team in Finland. He led the team to a first place finish in the division and earned the team promotion to Division 2 in Finland s professional league. Stefano has recently coached for Italian side Lecco and is currently the head coach for newly US pro league (ASL) Men s Team Mass United North Shore. Franciosa holds a UEFA A License, a USSF A License and an NSCAA A License. Tony Martone is the Head Coach Men s Soccer Merrimack College. Entering his 33rd season at Merrimack College Coach Martone is one of the most successful coaches in not only Division II men's soccer coaching history, but in NCAA men's soccer history. In 2012, he led his team to Merrimack's first NCAA Division II National Tournament berth. Martone holds a USSF "A" License and was inducted into the Massachusetts Senior Soccer Hall of Fame in He was named N.E.I.S.L. Coach of the Year in 1994 and 2004, and E.M.S.C.A. "College Coach of the Year in 1995 and Along with coaching the Warriors, Martone has been involved with many other soccer programs across the New England Region, ranging from youth to the professional level. Professionally, he has coached with the Boston Bolts of the ASL and the Cape Cod Crusaders of the USISL both of which qualified for post-season play in each of his seasons behind the bench - and has also worked with the coaching staff and management of the Major League Soccer s New England Revolution, primarily as a scout. Additionally, some of his youth teams went on to win state and regional championships. Several of Martone s players have moved on to play at various levels of the US National Teams, including the Men s National team and the Olympic team, as well as overseas. Further, over 40 of his former protégés have gone on to join the coaching ranks at the college and/or professional levels. From 2000 through 2004, Martone coached the Massachusetts Men's State Team. During this time, his team was ranked in the top 10 state associations in the country. Gabe Mejail is the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Merrimack College. As the only head coach that the program has ever known, Mejaíl has enjoyed a long and decorated career now entering his fourth decade with the Warriors and has guided the program from its inception in 1984 into the perennial regional and national contender that it is today. Mejaíl's milestones are plentiful, but the most notable include his being the winningest coach (total victories) in NCAA Division II women's soccer coaching history, as well as ranking fifth all-time in NCAA women's soccer coaching history (all Divisions), and 19th all-time in win percentage at the Division II level. Alex Wilson is the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Stonehill. Wilson recently completed her first season as head coach of the Stonehill College women s soccer program. She took charge of the program after being promoted from assistant coach in June, In her first season at the helm, Wilson guided Stonehill to a record in the Northeast-10, and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the NE-10 Tournament.The Skyhawks kicked off their 2013 campaign by advancing to the championship match of the inaugural Catholic Cup tournament, before falling to host Assumption College 2-1 in double overtime. Stonehill responded by opening up its conference slate at 3-1-1, including wins over Le Moyne on 9/21/2013 and Franklin Pierce on 9/24/2013. Pete Simonini is the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Daniel Webster. Simonini is a former professional player and coach for the New England Revolution. Simonini served as the head coach of men's soccer at Bentley University (NCAA II) for 21 seasons from 1987 to Over that tenure, Simonini earned four Northeast-10 Conference "Coach of the Year" honors, was a three-time New England Division II Coach of the Year and won four NE-10 regular season championships and three NE-10 tournament titles while guiding the Falcons to a 20-year record of P a g e N o r t h S h o r e U n i t e d W a r r i o r s C a m p
5 Jodi Kenyon is the Head Coach of the Endicott Women s Soccer program. The 2013 season marks Jodi Kenyon s ninth year as the head coach. Kenyon is the third coach in the program s successful history and she also serves as Associate Athletic Director of Endicott Athletics. Under Kenyon, the Gulls have qualified for eight straight postseason appearances, including reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history in In 2012, the team reached the CCC semifinals and went on to win the ECAC Championship. Endicott has won four conference titles under Kenyon while reaching the finals in three other seasons. Kenyon has compiled an all-time record of in her eight seasons, establishing one the most successful coaching records at Endicott. She earned her 100th win in a 2-0 shutout over Suffolk in the ECAC Quarterfinals on November 10th, The Gulls have also earned the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Team Academic Award from seven times. Mike Bettencourt has coached at the College, Club, Town Travel, Town Recreational, Super Y, and Regional Level. Mike has been at North Shore United for nine years and has recently been promoted to Executive Director of the Club. Since, joining NSU in 2006, Mike has played a big role in developing youth training programs at North Shore United. Starting off by developing the Grasshopper Program, this has grown rapidly and has allowed players to transition easily into our NSU Academy Programs. Sophia Mastendino played for Manchester Essex High School and two years for North Shore United. Sophia was recruited by Sewanee College and started as a freshman. Today she is currently attending Quinnipiac College and majoring in Athletic Training. Sophia has been working with NSU for three years now, serving as an assistant coach, junior coach for our Grasshopper programs, and running NSU Summer Camp.
