8 The campus of Florestal is close to the capital Belo Horizonte, while the campus of Rio Paranaíba is located in Alto Paranaíba valley and the campus of Viçosa is located 227 km from the capital, in a region of Atlantic Forest known as Zona da Mata Mineira. 10 $$$ Costs $$$ There is no fee for studying at UFV. Student card - R$6,00 (US$3.60) - (this fee must be paid at UFVCredi). Books and material will usually be available in the libraries, and if it is necessary to take some copies, it might cost few reais. In many points of the campus there is wireless internet available. The right to reside in Brazil has a initial registration fee of R$64,58 (US$38.70). The student should also emit the identity card for foreign (CIE), and for it he/she should pay a fee of R$124,23 (US$74.45).

11 $$$ Costs $$$ In the university restaurant meals cost R$2,00 (US$1.20) and breakfast R$1,00 (US$0.60) for undergraduate students, and R$2,25 (US$1.35) and R$1,25 (US$0.75) for post-graduate students, respectively. The bus fare in the city of Viçosa is R$2,00(US$0,99). Opening a bank account is free. Other service fees will vary from bank to bank. You need the CPF. The university does not have accommodation for foreigner students. So, students can rent flats or share a house with other students.

12 Arriving in Viçosa, you must pass at International Office in order to give you the initial informations.

14 Unfortunately we don t have Federal Police in Viçosa. You have to go to Juiz de Fora. To go there you have to go to Viçosa bus station and look for Viação Unida. Below are the timetables to go to there and to come back to Viçosa.

15 You will need to fill three forms: one with your personal informations and the other two to pay the taxes: one for initial registration and other for the foreign identity card. 41 STUDENT CARD UFVCredi Main building

42 You can get your student card after you get enrolled at UFV as student. 1. Pay six (6) reais in a bank called UFVCredi, it s placed behind the main building (the building where DRI is placed). 2. Leave your things on the grey locker outside and enter with just your money six reais. Ask the guard that stays near the door for Pagar carteirinha. He will explain to you how to do it. 43 After you pay for student card you can do it: the place is underground of the Main Building. Get the left stairs (the one beside the International Office). Look up in your left and you will see a plaque written Carteirinha. Go there with your passport, a paper that you got when you did your enrollment and the receipt from the bank.

45 We have two university restaurants in UFV. The price varies from R$1,90 to undergraduation students, R$2.25 to graduation student and R$4.00 to visitors. To obtain the tickets you have to access the link bellow and follow the steps in the pictures. The system is in Portuguese. Step one: enter at and will appear the following screen

46 Enter with your student number with an ES before the numbers (Example ES11111) and your password (senha) The password is on the white paper that you received on the regitration day

47 Go to Gerar Boleto and will appear this screen Tick before Li, compreendi e aceito o texto acima. The translation of the text in this screen is: 1) The amount issued in the billet below will be valid only after payment. 2) The amount will be available as credits for you at RU or Multiuso after the bank confirm the payment. 3) The billet paid in BANCO DO BRASIL will have the credits available in the next weekday after the payment. 4) The billet paid in other banks will have the credits available in at least two days after the payment. So, plan your purchase of electronic tickets to not have problems in access the restaurant. I read, I understood and accept the text above.
