14 July 27, 2015 Speaker Rhonda Farrell Associate, Booz Allen Hamilton Rhonda Farrell is an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, primarily focusing on enterprise life-cycle activities as they relate to cybersecurity and quality. Her prior career experience was within operations, engineering, and security functional areas of Fortune 500 companies throughout Silicon Valley, CA. as well as with the US Marine Corps at Quantico, VA Her educational background includes a B.S in Business Administration (heavy Math and C.S.) (1999) and an MBA in Strategic Management (2000) from California State University; a J.D.-- Technology from Concord Law School (2009); and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Information Assurance from the University of Fairfax. She is a veteran committee member and leader within IEEE Northern Virginia, ISSA International (WIS SIG and Board of Directors), ISSA-NOVA, and ASQ 509 where she has worked on initiatives which provide member value, increase opportunities for professional development, stimulate growth, and enable realization of strategic partnering opportunities. 16 June 22, 2015 Speaker Michael Volk Strategic Partnerships Coordinator, Center for Workforce Solutions Anne Arundel Community College Michael Volk is the Strategic Partnerships Coordinator for the Center for Workforce Solutions at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC). In this role he works to develop relationships with business, government and other organizations to bring Cybersecurity, Leadership Development as well as other training resources of the college directly to the community. In a volunteer capacity, Michael serves as the Chair of the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC), Workforce Development Forum, and as a member of the InfraGard Maryland Members Alliance Board of Directors. Prior to joining AACC Michael held two positions at the Mayor s Office of Employment Development (MOED) in Baltimore City from October 2010 May The last position Michael held at MOED was the Project Coordinator for the BRAC National Emergency Grant, FEDirect project. Before Michael began his career in the public sector he held several different inside sales related positions at Eurotech, Inc. a Columbia Maryland based technology Company. In addition to his professional experience, Michael holds a Bachelor s Degree in Political Science with a focus in International Studies from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD; and a Master s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, MD. Michael is also CompTIA Network+ Certified.

17 June 24, 2015 Topic Enhancing Access to Cybersecurity Education, Training and Awareness Cybersecurity is evolving before our very eyes. Cybersecurity is creating new business opportunities, impacting the way businesses operate and changing the way we conduct our personal and professional lives. The education and training needs of our communities are being shaped by the issues and implications associated with cybersecurity. The role of community colleges is to provide job relevant education and training based on the needs of the communities we serve. As cybersecurity becomes increasingly interwoven into the fabric of our society, professionals in technical fields and the nontechnical technology user alike require access to some level of cybersecurity education and training. Many community colleges are adapting to meet ever changing needs of their communities. Individuals entering the workforce or changing careers need academic programs to establish a firm foundation for their chosen profession. Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) recognizes the impact of cybersecurity on all aspects of our society and the changing needs of our community. In response we have developed high-quality traditional credit certificate and degrees as well as industry and end-user driven continuing education courses and programs to meet these needs. There is no single approach that can be applied to cybersecurity education and training. AACC embraces the multi-dimensional nature of the cybersecurity and is dedicated to enhancing access to education and training that meets the needs of the different segments of our community. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a high level overview of Anne Arundel Community College s approach to enhance access to cybersecurity education, training and cybersecurity awareness.
