1 LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE 29 May 2015 MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted as a student in the Master's Degree Programme. Notification of Admission Please find enclosed the Notification of Admission. Confirmation of the acceptance The Confirmation of the Acceptance form is enclosed. We ask you to return soonest the written confirmation form of the participation in these studies, however by 17 July 2015 at Finnish time, at the latest. Accommodation Arrival to Finland For the accommodation information, please see where you can see the alternatives of different accommodation sites and rentals, and submit the application form accordingly. In the list of flats, please see Mukkula and Kiveriö, where there are only furnished flats. After having received your confirmation of the study place, we will contact you by after 21 August, If you have booked accommodation from Oppilastalo, we recommend that you arrive a few days earlier to take care of the practicalities e.g. keys from Oppilastalo - please check the office hours in advance. Academic Year From 1 August 2015 to 31 July The orientation to the studies will start on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 8:30 am in Learning Centre Fellmannia, Kirkkokatu 27, Lahti (see the enclosed map of Lahti center). You will receive all the relevant materials and instructions during the orientation period. Schedule of your studies Incoming Procedure Please get familiar with the programme schedule you have received. Students from outside the EU/EEA countries, please contact the Finnish Embassy in your country. For the residence permit you have to: - Present the passport - Present the Notification of Admission and this Letter of Acceptance - Have at least 560 (Euros) per month or 6,720 (Euros) per year at your disposal - have details of your comprehensive health insurance coverage For further instructions, please see the website This website opens in Finnish language but please choose English language from the upper right corner of the website. As it will take several weeks to get the residence permit, it is really important to start the procedure as soon as possible. Original certificates The Tuition Fees Please remember to bring with you all the original certificates you used in applying to this programme. We will check them during the first week. The admission of a student is conditional until the Lahti University of Applied Sciences (LUAS) has checked the applicant's school and the relevant certificates. LUAS may withdraw the admission, if the applicant has given false information. There are no tuition fees. The Finnish Ministry of Education provides for this tuitionfree programme.
