1 Supply Chain Management and Procurement Introduction Supply Chain Management is a key discipline which enables public and private organisations to improve their operational performance and to create relative advantage and added value to all stakeholders. This concept integrates the management of the entire operation system, from start to end, including: the external supplier, the internal operational transformation process in the organisation and the external customer. The programme will include an emphasis on procurement, as an important component of Supply Chain Management. Programme Participants The course has been designed for managers in the public and private sectors, who are interested in exploring various means for increasing the operational efficiency of their organisations and improving their capability to extend their services and to compete in the market. Objectives and Outcome The objective of the programme is to impart managerial methods and tools that will enable participants to make procurement and operation processes in their organisations more efficient, as well as to improve performance management, monitoring and evaluation. More specifically, participants will have: Further knowledge and understanding of supply chain planning and management principles Enhanced their ability to manage the various stages of procurement and operations, including risk management, monitoring and evaluation Improved their communication and negotiation skills. 2 Distribution channels and structural dimensions The role of Outsourcing in the Supply Chain system Supply Chain and Quality management Performance management, inventory control, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Tenders management: structure, content, contracts and subcontracting Supply Chain in the international and global arena The Supply Chain Cash flow and Financial management balance from procurement cost to revenue generation Project Procurement The Supply Chain economic evaluation and risk management Negotiation and communication skills Participants will take active roles in the programme. They will have to prepare an assignment to be presented at the end of the programme.
