2 The Powderhorn Chateau The Powderhorn Chateau is the perfect venue for events and conferences. Just a few hours drive from Auckland or Wellington, it is also a central meeting point between cities, providing the ideal location for corporate groups, families or friends. Our venue offers accommodation for up to 75 guests with conference and restaurant facilities allowing for over 100. By offering accommodation, conference facilities and dining all on site, we can provide your group with a stress-free environment to maximize the purpose of your stay. With an experienced onsite events contact we can help you with everything from the initial planning stages right through to running your event on the day. Right on the doorstep of the venue there are a host of leisure and sporting activities available you may wish to incorporate into your stay. Outside of snow sports, hiking in the Tongariro National Park, paddling the Whanganui River, golfing or mountain-biking are just a few options on offer. The Powderkeg and Matterhorn restaurants are both available with a range of options to suit your requirements. Casual dining is available in the Powderkeg year-round with the Matterhorn available for private functions. We are experienced in catering for a huge variety of tastes and budgets and will endeavor to create the perfect experience for your delegates. HISTORY The Powdehorn began in 1987 with the Powderhorn Ski Bahn. Proprietor and ski enthusiast Paul Scarf opened the ski and snowboard shop after working on the skifield. With a number of thirsty skiers returning rental goods, he saw it a natural progression to open a bar adjacent. The popularity of the Powderkeg Inn soared throughout the 80's and 90's with snow sports becoming more accessible to New Zealanders. It is now solidified in the memories of many as a fun place to meet, eat and for many a great night out. The Powderkeg was the second part of a concept which expanded in 1995, with the official opening of the Powderhorn Chateau, encompassing 30 boutique hotel suites, a luxury apartment, the Matterhorn restaurant and conference rooms. The Powderhorn is family owned and operated. We have a strong focus on providing comfortable luxury and exceptional service standards. LOCATION The Powderhorn Chateau is located at the base of Mt Ruapehu, an active volcano, in the spectacular Tongariro National Park, Central Plateau. Driving from Auckland will take approximately 4.5 hours and from Wellington, around 3.5 hours. For those travelling by air, Taupo airport is only 1.5 hours away and provides rental car and transfer facilities. Other travel options include the TranzScenic Overlander train which stops a block from the hotel.

Their timbered interiors, queen-sized beds and large bathrooms create a homely feel and all are furnished with quality linens and fabrics. 12 Double / Single 17 Double / Twin / Single THE MANSION The mansion is our luxury apartment and can sleep between six and eight adults. A full kitchen, two spa bathrooms and spacious lounge area make the Mansion ideal for a stay with family or friends. Al fresco dining can be enjoyed at dusk on the large private balcony overlooking the Mangawhero River and native bush. TYNE ST CHALET Adjacent to the hotel, the recently renovated Tyne St Chalet offers complete privacy, whilst still conveniently located on the hotel property. The chalet consists of three bedrooms, a full kitchen, dining area and fireplace.

4 THE CONFERENCE ROOM Our conference room is situated on the upper level of the building and can seat up to 80 delegates in a theatre style configuration. This is a versatile space that can be split into two areas the Ruapehu room and the Turoa room. With French doors opening onto a large balcony, the rooms are light and spacious, encouraging the best from your delegates. In addition, we have other break-out rooms throughout the complex that are suited to smaller meetings or team building exercises Full day $150.00, Half day $75.00 Data projector (3000 lumens) $50 a day. Single and twin occupancy daily delegate packages are available for 20 plus delegates. FOOD & BEVERAGE Our food and beverage department offers a variety of dining options, from a la carte, set menu, buffet and canapés, executive chef Reuben Lynn promises to deliver a range of cuisine that will be enjoyed by all. A gourmet barbeque on the balcony, five-course meal in the Matterhorn restaurant, or cocktails and canapés around the bar are just some of the options available to you. 5 The Powderhorn Chateau can help organise half-day to full-day trips, transfers and, if required, a delicious picnic lunch from our kitchen for your excursions. TONGARIRO CROSSING The Tongariro Crossing is rated as the best one day trek in New Zealand (listed by many as one of the top 10 tracks in the world) and boasts dramatic scenery and unique land forms. The 19.4 kilometer track is achievable for almost any age group or fitness level, although weather can change dramatically so good planning is essential. JET BOAT TOURS Visit the world famous 'Bridge to Nowhere'. Enjoy a scenic jet boat ride to the Mangapurua Landing, walk a scenic 40 minute bush walk to the abandoned settlement of Mangapurua and the 'Bridge to Nowhere'. SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING Your group can hire equipment from our onsite Snowcentre and receive a 20% discount. They can also organise lift passes. Mt Ruapehu has great learn to ski/board packages and we can organise return transport to take you up to the ski fields. MOUNTAIN BIKING Ohakune has an abundance of world class mountain bike tracks, including the Old Coach Road, the Bridge to Nowhere via the Mangapurua Track and Fishers Track. These vary in length and grade so it is possible to cater for all fitness levels. INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING Test your team work and your fitness at the Vertigo SLR Indoor climbing wall.
