2 ATDW PRODUCT LISTING INCLUSION CRITERIA The following section outlines the general product criteria, applicable to all categories. This criteria excludes any entity who on-sells other products which are non-travel related products. For further details on product exclusions, see ATDW Product & Business Exclusions. Tourism Operator Definitions A tourism operator is defined as having a business operating one of the product categories. The operator must meet the criteria based on the definition provided before gaining entry. Participating business operators must be located and/or operate their business within Australia. For further details on ATDW product categories, see ATDW Product Categories & Types. Leisure Tourism Focus The product must provide a direct service or experience to the leisure tourist. Individual Business Listings Each listing must only contain one product. Businesses operating multiple products from multiple product categories must list each product independently within the relevant product category. For further details on ATDW product categories, see ATDW Product Categories & Types. One Accommodation Listing per Physical Property Only one accommodation listing is allowed within each physical property. Product Updating Product listings not updated for 12 months or longer will be disabled. ATDW PRODUCT LISTING EXCLUSION CRITERIA The following section outlines the general product exclusions, listings that are not eligible on ATDW. These exclusions are applicable to all product categories. Booking Services/Agents Booking services/agents is defined as a person, business or organisation that makes reservations on behalf of clients. Exclusion Example Booking Service A person, business or organisation, with a physical premise, where a customer can place reservations for products and/or services, which are not operated, managed or owned by the person, business or organisation providing the booking service. The booking service may or may not charge a service fee. Exclusion Example Agent A person, business or organisation, with a physical premise, where a customer can be directed to a booking service, or directly to products or services, which are not operated, managed or owned by the person, business or organisation providing the booking service or the agent service. The agent may or may not charge a service fee. Websites/Virtual Businesses Websites/virtual business does not have physical premises that customers can walk in to and access the products and/or services. Customers can view the products and/or services on the business s website(s) and place orders via the internet. Exclusion Example Websites/Virtual Businesses A person, business or organisation, without a physical premise accessible to customers, that provides a direct or indirect Internet/web based information and/or a reservation booking service, for placement of bookings. 3 Travel Insurance Travel insurance providers provide insurance to cover the eventualities of a period of travel away from home such as cancellations, flight delay, loss of luggage, medical costs, and theft of money and/or belongings. Exclusion Example Travel Insurance A person, business or organisation, with a physical premise, where customers can purchase travel insurance for products and/or services. The travel insurance provider may or may not charge a service fee. Discount Cards/Park Passes Discount cards/park passes entitle the holder to a reduction on the price of products and/or services purchased at a specific place. Exclusion Example Discount Cards A person, business or organisation, with a physical premise, where a customer can purchase discount cards for products and/or services. The discount card provider may or may not charge a service fee. Exclusion Example Park Passes/Ticketing A person, business or organisation, with a physical premise, where a customer can purchase passes and /or tickets for products and/or services. The park pass/ticketing provider may or may not charge a service fee. Human Resource Provider Human resource/service providers supply a specific resource or service. Exclusion Example Human Resource Provider Babysitting Service A person, business or organisation, with or without a physical premise, providing a remote and/or static babysitting service for customers. The park babysitting service provider may or may not charge a service fee. Exclusion Example Human Resource Provider Cleaning Service A person, business or organisation, with or without a physical premise, providing a remote and/or static cleaning (e.g. premises, cloths, cars) service to customers. The cleaning service provider may or may not charge a service fee. Exclusion Example Human Resource Provider Pet Care Service A person, business or organisation, with or without a physical premise, providing a remote and/or static pet care (e.g. medical, washing, trimming) service to customers. The pet care service provider may or may not charge a service fee. Wholesalers/Inbound Tour Operators Travel agents/wholesalers or inbound tour operators (ITO) specialise in collating products and/or services together into packages and re-selling to consumers. Exclusion Example Wholesalers A person, business or organisation, with or without a physical premise accessible to customers, providing individual and/or collated products and/or services to other service providers. The wholesale service may or may not charge a service fee. Exclusion Example Inbound Tour Operators (ITO) A person, business or organisation, with or without a physical premise accessible to customers, providing product/service packages containing a collation of products from single or multiple product categories. 4 ATDW PRODUCT CATEGORIES & PRODUCT TYPES The following section defines the ATDW product categories and types. Accommodation Accommodation establishments allowing short term stay. Property styles can range from apartments, backpacker and hotels, bed and breakfasts, caravan and camping, farm stays, holiday houses, motels, hotels and resorts Apartments This type of accommodation has self-catering facilities (sink, refrigerator, microwave, etc). Most have separate bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, one or more bathrooms, usually a washer and dryer, and sometimes a balcony or patio. Towels and linen are provided. Daily or weekly service and other hotel conveniences are usually available. Backpackers and Hostels A backpacker, hostel or lodge provides short-term accommodation to guests. Accommodation varies from individual rooms but is typically dormitory style. Lodges are typically larger communal buildings with accommodation varying from individual rooms to dormitory style. These products typically share common bathroom, social areas and self catering facilities. Bed and Breakfasts A Bed and Breakfast is a lodging typically operated out of a large single family residence where guests can be accommodated in private bedrooms (which may or may not be equipped with private bathroom facilities). The accommodation may be either in the main house or in a separate building designed for this specific purpose. Breakfast is a component of the daily tariff and is provided either in the form of daily provisions or it is prepared by the host for the guest. Cabins and Cottages A stand alone dwelling which includes private bathroom facilities and kitchen with cooking facilities. The dwelling may be located within the boundary of an accommodation complex. Caravan and Camping A defined area with shared amenities providing any of the following forms of accommodation or the space for them: cabins, tents, touring caravans, motor homes, caravan holiday homes, chalets and bungalows with or without central entertainment and sports facilities, shops and restaurants. Farm Stays Accommodation which offers guests the opportunity to observe or become involved in farm life on a rural property. The accommodation ranges from self contained cabins, cottages, motel style units to staying in the homestead with the family. Holiday Houses A stand alone residence for holiday letting which may have several bedrooms allowing a group of guests to stay there together. Typically the house will include full kitchen facilities, private bathroom facilities and laundry facilities. Hotels A Hotel provides short-term accommodation to guests. A licensed bar will be onsite. Rooms include private bathroom facilities and may include full or limited cooking facilities. All or some meals will be available either in a restaurant located onsite, or through room service. A number of additional guest services may be available, these may include a swimming pool, games room or child care. Motels Typically designed to attract motorists, these properties provide motel units or suites to guests. Individual bathroom facilities are available and parking is usually offered within the motel boundary. Breakfast is usually available and units are serviced daily. These rooms may contain limited cooking facilities. Resorts Resort provides short-term accommodation to guests. Resorts provide various additional guest services and activities which may include a swimming pool, games room, child care, restaurants and licensed bars. Rooms include private bathroom facilities and may include full or limited cooking facilities. All or some meals will be available in a restaurant located onsite, or through room service. May have a tour desk, and may provide sufficient night life and day time activities to encourage an extended on site holiday. Retreat and Lodge Accommodation situated in secluded area ideal for quiet relaxation. Style of accommodation ranges from ski/rural lodges to cottages. Self Contained Accommodation with self-catering facilities including stove or microwave, sink, refrigerator, utensils, etc. Wilderness Safari Retreat Style of accommodation ranges from permanent tents, gazebos to cabins. Often in secluded locations. There may be shared and/or private facilities, social areas and group activities for guests to participate in while at the property. 5 Amusement and Theme Parks A theme park or amusement park attraction is an enclosed area or site that provides a variety of experiences, amusements and services often relating to a particular theme. Admission fee usually applies. Classes, Lessons, Workshops Classes and lessons for various hobbies including arts/crafts, dance, music, painting, pottery, boat-building and/or cooking. Dining and Eating Out A restaurant, cafe or dining establishment. Entertainment Established venues including cinemas, clubs, casinos, theatres, performance centres. Farming, Food and Produce Businesses involved in farming, or the production of food, open to visitors. Galleries, Museums and Collections An art gallery, museum, collection, interpretative centre and/or science centre available to visitors. May house arts, crafts or any collection of interest. Historical Sites and Heritage Locations Historical Sites and Heritage Locations. Landmarks and Buildings Building and landmarks of interest to visitors including bridges, buildings, places of worship, lighthouses, etc. Markets Markets including food markets, flea markets, farmers markets, bric a brac, etc. Mining and Industry Mining or industry of particular interest to visitors. May offer services to visitors such as guided tours. Attractions Places of interest open to visitors Mining and Industry Mining or industry of particular interest to visitors. May offer services to visitors such as guided tours. National Parks and Reserves National Parks, Nature Reserves, Conservation Parks and Forest Reserves. Natural Attractions Natural attractions which have not been made or created by people. Observatories and Planetariums Facilities designed and equipped to observe astronomical phenomena or which house an instrument for projecting the positions of the planets onto a domed ceiling. Parks and Gardens Parks and gardens open to visitors. Scenic Drives and Walks Drives offering scenic views and walks. Shopping Retail shopping outlets including shopping precincts, iconic fashion houses, major shopping centres, including shopping arcades, antique shopping, etc. Spas and Retreats Day spas, wellness spas, health and wellness retreats. Sports and Recreation Facilities Sporting venues and recreational facilities open to visitors. Wineries, Vineyards and Breweries Wineries, vineyards and breweries open to visitors. Zoos, Sanctuaries, Aquariums and Wildlife Parks Zoos, sanctuaries, aquariums and wildlife parks open to visitors. ATDW_Operator_Listing_Guidelines_v1.3 Page 5 of 7

6 Events Includes activities which are scheduled events, may be once only, annual, biennial, biannual, weekly, fortnightly, etc. Events can be local, minor, or major events, but must be leisure tourist focused Exhibitions and Shows Exhibitions and shows including agricultural, local and regional shows, motor shows, etc Festivals and Celebrations Festivals, celebrations and tourism events of interest to visitors. Markets Markets including food markets, flea markets, farmers markets, bric a brac, etc. Performances Performances including song, dance, theatre, etc. Sporting Events Sports events. Classes, Lessons, Workshops Classes and lessons for various hobbies including arts/crafts, dance, music, painting, pottery, boat-building and/or cooking. Tour Organised excursions usually with a guide and commentary. May vary in duration from less than a day, to one day to extended touring Extended A tour with set departures and costs, with a duration of more than 1 day, that is, with at least one night s accommodation included in the tour itinerary. Full Day A tour with set departures and costs, with a duration of more than 5 hours but less than 1 day, with no overnight accommodation. Half Day or Less A tour with set departures and costs, with duration of less than 5 hours. Night A tour with a duration of less than 5 hours that departs in the early evening or night. Tailored A tour with variable time period. * Markets can also be stored under Attractions. ** Classes, Lessons & Workshops can also be stored under Attractions. Hire Hire services including vehicle, boat, equipment and houseboat hire. Includes yacht and boat charters Bicycles Bicycle hire. Boats Boat hire including any motorised boats. Campervans and Motorhomes Campervans and motorhome hire. Cars Car hire. Equipment Equipment hire including skis, trailers, dive equipment, camping equipment, etc. Four Wheel Drives Four wheel drive hire. Houseboats Houseboat hire. Minibuses and Coaches Minibus and coach hire. Motorcycles Motorcycle hire. Yachts Yacht hire including yacht charters. Transport Transfer Services and Air, Coach, Ferry and Rail point to point services Air Services Scheduled air services. Coach Services Scheduled coach services. 7 Journey Suggested journeys which can include a series of routes and waypoints. May include walking trails, scenic drives and suggested itineraries. Restaurant Restaurants which are targeted at leisure visitors and/or offer a unique dining experience Air Journeys which include a portion of air travel. Land Journeys which include a portion of travel on land. Water Journeys which include a portion of travel on water. Cuisine Type The differing cuisine types which a Restaurant offers.
