7 Day 2 Wednesday June 24 Group 1 arrives in Munich (München) at 1300 after a stopover in Dubai. Group 2 arrives in Munich at 1325 after a stopover in Doha Check into the hotel and then start a 2 hour walking tour of old Munich then walk to a restaurant for dinner.

9 Day 3 Thursday June 25

10 The music department of the KAG will prepare a detailed schedule for the 25 June. They are planning workshops/rehearsals with their big ensembles. Then there will be lunch together and in the afternoon a common concert.

11 Day 4 Friday June 26 Morning visit to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. Tour members not wanting to visit Dachau will have the opportunity to visit the local town centre instead.

13 In the afternoon we travel through the beautiful Bavarian Alps to Neuschwanstein. On arrival, take a 30 minute walk up to the castle where you have the opportunity to visit Castle Neuschwanstein.

17 Day 5 Saturday June 27 Depart Munich and travel to Markneukirchen (approx. 3.5 hour drive) in the German state of Saxony. This region is known as Musicon Valley (yes, like Silicon Valley), due to the 400 year long history of brass and string instrument making. In the 1900 s 80% of the worlds instruments were made here! Visits to instrument makers and an afternoon concert (15:30)in the music pavilion at the Bad Elster Spa.

21 Day 6 Sunday June 28 Explore the region around Markneukirchen and the musical instrument museums and workshops. Maybe take the waters at the spa town Bad Elster. (Bad in a town s name indicates that this town is a health spa - a specialized resort town situated around a mineral spring) and hike around our lovely hotel!

24 Day 7 Monday June 29 Head to Prague, arriving possibly in the early evening. (approx. 2.5 hour drive) Settle into the hotel and have dinner.

25 Day 8 Tuesday June 30 A 90 minute morning concert in Hradčanské náměstí Square (next to Prague Castle) Evening concert at 19:30, concert duration 1 hour at the Czech Museum of Music

27 Day 9 Wednesday July 1 Start the day with a 3 hour Walking Tour of the inner-city with English speaking guides including the Hradčany Castle District. Afternoon is possibly free time to visit the old town or shopping or catching up on sleep or laundry.

28 Day 10 Thursday July 2 Depart Prague and travel to picturesque Cesky Krumlov (approx. 2.5 hours drive) for lunch and brief visit. Depart Cesky Krumlov and continue to Salzburg (approx. 2.5 hours drive). Opening of the International Music and Culture Festival & Choir Competition. Dinner Buffet at the opening of the Festival and Choir Competition.

30 Day 11 Friday July 3 Start with a 3 hours Walking City Sightseeing Tour of Salzburg including admission to Mozart s birthplace. Ecumenical service for all participating groups at the Salzburg Cathedral (choir and Orchestra to perform)

36 Day 12 Saturday July 4 During lunch, walk to Mirabell Gardens and listen to the other festival music groups in Mirabell Gardens. 2 hour concert in the Mirabell Gardens for various CSHS ensembles. Choir competition or concert Afternoon rehearsals for the evening festival concert Evening Festival Concert in the Festival Hall in Salzburg

38 Day 13 Sunday July 5 A guided tour of the famous Hallein Salt Mines. Enjoy the afternoon Sound of Music excursion in the Lake District featuring all sights of the movie in Salzburg and the Lake District. An approx. 90 minute outdoor concert at the St. Gilgen music pavilion.

42 Day 14 Monday July 6 We travel back across the German border to the town of Berchtesgaden to visit the famous Eagles Nest. An open air concert at the Nature-Stage music pavilion in Berchtesgaden. (basically just outside)

44 Day 15 Tuesday July 7 Depart Salzburg and travel to Bratislava (approx. 4 hour drive). Upon arrival in Bratislava, you will have time to explore the city centre and buy your lunch. Continue by coach to Budapest (another approx. 2.5 hours drive) and upon arrival, check-in to your accommodation.

46 Day 16 Wednesday July 8 2 hour workshop for the orchestra at the Academy of Music in Budapest. Then a 2 hour choir workshop for all participants with Kodaly specialists. In the afternoon a 90 minute open air concert in Wörösmarty Square, Budapest.

48 Day 17 Thursday July 9 Excursion to the beautiful and rustic Danube towns of Esztergom, Visegrád, and Szentendre. Today the town's best-known inhabitants are artists and small galleries can be found on every street corner. A 90 minute evening concert (1930) in the town square in Szentendre.

53 Day 18 Friday July 10 Depart for Vienna via Bratislava. (Approx. 3 hour drive) by coaches. 6 hour Cruise from Bratislava to Vienna on charter vessel. On arrival in Vienna, board your waiting coaches and transfer to your Vienna accommodation.

55 Day 19 Saturday July 11 A 2 hour clinic with a Music Director of the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra for the Orchestra. Visit the House of Music Museum and take a Composer s Tour of Vienna.

56 Haus der Begegnung Praterstern Workshop for the full-orchestra with Martin Kerschbaum, chief conductor of the Vienna Classical Players

57 Day 20 Sunday July 12 Open air performance (14:00) of approx. 90 minutes in the courtyard and gardens of Schönbrunn Palace. Performance (15:00) by the choir and possibly guitars/chamber orchestra at the Schönbrunn Palace Chapel followed by a guided audio tour. A guided Walking Tour of the inner city including St. Stephan s Cathedral Farewell Dinner with typical Austrian music entertainment at a local Heurigen restaurant.

58 The band/choir will attract people through their music and invite them to come to the concert starting at 15:00 h in the Schlosskapelle

59 Day 21 Monday July 13 Fly home via Dubai or Doha arriving home Tuesday afternoon.
