6 CAUTION iphone and Smartphone Users Please be sure to turn OFF data roaming on WiFi-enabled mobile phones. Failure to do so may result in international roaming charges incurred with your local carrier. How to turn off data roaming on iphone (ios 7) 1. From the home screen, select Settings Select Cellular Select Roaming 2. Ensure the Voice & Data Roaming switch is disabled. Enabled when the switch is in the green position. How to turn OFF data roaming on Android Smartphone Settings Wireless and network Mobile networks Data roaming Please ensure that Data roaming is UNCHECKED. Note: Please check your phone manufacturer's guide for instructions on how to turn off data roaming 4

7 Please Turn OFF icloud & Automatic Downloads (ios7) If icloud is turned on and connected to the internet, it will send and receive data automatically, which could result in exceeding the limits of a carrier s fair usage policy. Tap Settings > itunes & App Stores on your device. 2. Tap Sign In if you're not already signed in to the itunes Store. 3. Enter your Apple ID and password. 4. Tap to disable Automatic Downloads for each content type. 5

8 How To Connect To The Internet Follow these instructions to connect up to ten Wi-Fi enabled devices to the Internet using your XCom Global ZTE Mobile Hotspot. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Your mobile hotspot starts up and is ready for you to connect another device to it (such as your computer, tablet or smartphone). 2 Connect your computer or other device to your mobile hotspot a. On your computer, view the list of available Wi-Fi networks. b. Select the Wi-Fi SSID (Network Name) displayed on the label underneath the mobile hotspot LCD screen, and connect to it. SSID: PW: The password is case-sensitive. Please type it carefully. Guide to letters/numbers on the password label: 0=#zero, O=alphabet, 5=#five, S=alphabet, 8=#eight, B=alphabet I=alphabet eye, 1=#one, l=small el, L=Capital el c. When prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password as it appears on the label underneath the mobile hotspot LCD screen --or -- it is printed inside the battery compartment of your mobile hotspot. 3 Check the browser icon 1 on the mobile hotspot to ensure at least one device is connected. Launch your browser and access the Internet. 6

9 Troubleshooting Hotspot Displays 'Insert SIM', And/Or Will Not Charge Or Power On - When the mobile hotspot does not power on - When the mobile hotspot displays Insert SIM - When the mobile hotspot does not indicate that the battery is charging Remove the SIM card, wipe off the metal contacts with clean cloth, and reinstall it. Lift up the battery cover from the bottom of the mobile hotspot, then remove the battery. Remove the SIM card by sliding in the direction of the arrow Wipe off the metal contacts with soft clean cloth Insert the SIM card and battery with the contacts located against the metal springs and press the battery down in the case. Line the battery cover up correctly and press gently to close the case. 7

10 Troubleshooting Hotspot Displays 'Limited Service' And/Or Has No Signal Strength - When the mobile hotspot has no signal. - When the hotspot displays "limited service". Use Manual Search to enable your hotspot to manually search for a cellular carrier network signal. Access the mobile hotspot configuration page from a device that is actively connected to the hotspot. 1) Type into the address bar of your web browser. 2) Type admin to login to the administration page. The entry field is located on the right side of the screen. Click Settings on the menu bar. 8

Select the name of the cellular carrier network that begins with Available from the drop down box list. Then click apply. 9

Choose Wireless Networks tab and select the network name that starts with ufi_ in preferred networks, then click Remove. 5. 18 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Does the MF60 work on boats and cruises? A. The service for the MF60 is provided from land based cellular towers. While on cruises, mobile hotspot cannot reach cellular towers. You will have to rely on the Wi-Fi hotspots provided by the cruise ship during this time. Q. When does the MF60 go into Sleep Mode? How do I wake it up? A. If no user connects to the MF60 for over 10 minutes, the device will enter sleep mode and the LED light will turn off. In the sleep mode, the Wi-Fi function will be disabled. To wake up MF60, press and hold the Power button. Q. How long can I use MF60? A. MF60 s standby time is approximately 100 hours and working time is approximately 4 hours. Please note that the device s standby and working time are only for reference, and based on ideal working environment. Q. How do you do a hard reset on the MF60? A. Please remove the SIM and the battery. Then, plug in the micro USB cable into the mobile hotspot, and plug the other end into a computer or a wall socket. After about 15 seconds you should see "no battery" on the LCD screen. If you do not see "no battery" please contact us, as this process should reset the hotspot and make is useable. After the ZTEMF60 Mobile Hotspot has reset, please reconfigure it (refer to page 11). Q. What is XCom Global's Fair Usage Policy? A. Fair Usage Policies are implemented by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in order to apply a bandwidth cap to a user when a channel shared by many users becomes overloaded or may already be overloaded. These caps vary by carrier and the terms and implementation of the policies are under the ISP s control. We recommend avoiding certain things that commonly use large amounts of data: streaming video websites and services, cloud based backup or online storage applications, and applications that send or receive data automatically including backup and update services. XCom Global cannot always override any application of a Fair Usage Policy. If you exceed an ISP's Fair Usage Policy, they may throttle your usage by limiting your data allowance or shutting down your access for a period of time. This excessive data usage may not result in any additional costs for your rental, but can limit your actual data usage. 16
