5 Tour Itinerary / Day 1 7:00 AM Departure from Chatham Middle School-students to arrive at CMS at 6:30 Lunch en route to DC at the Maryland House Arrive in Washington, D.C. Visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Visit the Smithsonian Museums, which may include: National Air and Space Museum National Museum of Natural History National Museum of American History Take a tour of D.C. Photo stop at the Washington Monument FDR Memorial Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Jefferson Memorial Dinner at Bertucci s Take a night tour of Washington: Lincoln Memorial WWII Memorial Korean War Veterans Memorial Vietnam Veterans Memorial

6 Tour Itinerary / Day 2 Breakfast at hotel Visit Arlington National Cemetery Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Kennedy gravesites Photo stop the Marine Corps War Memorial Lunch at your own expense at Pentagon City Mall Visit Mount Vernon Mansion and grounds Museum and education center George Washington s tomb Dinner and Dance Party at the Hotel

9 Packing Don t forget to pack: Sweatshirt/jacket/rain gear Alarm clock and watch Bathroom bag (shampoo, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.) Camera/phone CMS t-shirts that will be provided Wednesday, 6/8: All students to wear orange shirt Thursday, 6/9 : All students to wear blue shirt Friday, 6/10: All students to wear red shirt - Outfit for dinner dance on 6/9

10 Spending money $20-30 per day to cover lunch, snacks, and souvenirs Gratuities are already included Please do not send your child with a credit/debit card

12 Health Care All students attending on the trip must turn in a completed over the counter and prescription medication form with a physician s stamp Our school nurse will be on tour to dispense all medications The Health Office will accept medications until 5/25. Our deadline for submitting medications to our nurse is May 25 th. No medication will be accepted on the day of departure. Contact sbutler@chatham-nj.org with any questions

13 Rules of the road Attendance at scheduled program activities is mandatory When at the hotel, please be courteous of other guests Only members of the same gender may be in a hotel room No smoking or use of alcohol Be punctual, attentive and respectful No swimming in hotel pool Cell phones may not be used during tour guide presentations or activities Students must remain in their rooms after curfew and under no circumstances should open their doors after curfew.

14 Prior to Departure On Tuesday, June 7 th between 5:00-7:00 PM, all bags must be dropped off at CMS. Your child will be directed to the area for his/her bus and the bags will be stored there overnight. School personnel will be checking all bags. Tour backpacks will be carried onto the bus on the day of departure. All bags are subject to search.
