1 HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Volume 4, Issue 5 May 2016 By Gene Carline The purpose of the FGSCC, a valued supporter of Habitat for Humanity of North Augusta, is to promote friendship; to develop and foster a spirit of goodwill and community responsibility; to provide monetary support for activities primarily within the military and local community; and to provide opportunities for social, cultural, and creative pursuit. Fort Gordon Spouses & Civilians Club is open to anyone affiliated with Fort Gordon. This includes active duty military and retirees as well as DOD civilians, contractors and their adult family members. The Fort Gordon Spouses and Civilians Club gives back to the CSRA community in many ways. Through proceeds from the Fort Gordon Thrift Shop and other fundraising opportunities, the FGSCC is able to hand out grants and scholarships to deserving groups and individuals in the spring of each club year. This year, they provided $54,000 in grants and scholarships. It would not be possible without our club members that Continued on page 2 Our Vision A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
