Some of these organizations are quasi/non-profit, but as you can see my experience is extensive and my involvement was always at a high level. UNITED WAY 1991 Elected to three-year term on board of directors of the United Way of Aroostook. Served on Personnel, Telethon and Annual Meeting Committees and was chairman of Communications Committee. Served as chairman of campaign for insurance volunteers in Southern Aroostook. HOULTON COMMUNITY CHORUS 1992 Vice President and long-time member of Houlton Community Chorus Served as President LITERACY VOLUNTEERS 1993 Volunteered to assist with the Young Authors program in MASAD #29 Junior/Senior High English Department Organizer and charter member of board of directors of Houlton Area Affiliate of the Literacy Volunteers of America. As President of Houlton Rotary Club, influenced the Rotary board to fund the establishment of this Affiliate Served on board of directors of LVA Houlton Area Affiliate Treasurer of LVA Houlton Area Affiliate. FRIENDS AND NEEDLES QUILT GUILD 2003 Joined Friends and Needles Quilt Guild affil with Maine Pine Tree Quilters Guild 2004 Originator and editor of full-color guild newsletter 2009 Created and maintain website for Guild 2009 President of the Guild 2010 Chairman of Annual Quilt Show SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK CULTURAL ARTS PROJECT 2008 Elected to Board of Directors 2009 Wrote Grant for SACAP - MAC $10, Elected Vice President of the Board

2 DREWS LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION Elected Secretary and Treasurer of the Drews Lake Property Owners Association. AMS USER GROUP 1990 Organizer and charter member of Maine Micro Mini-Group, a computer users group affiliated with the National AMS Users Group.. Served as its first president from 1990 to Taught hands-on computer workshops at New England and National Conferences. Honored by peers at 1991 and 1992 National Conferences for outstanding service and contributions to the Maine Mini-Group and in 1991 also received award for service to the National Education Committee Convention speaker teaching Microsoft Multiplan class at AMS National Convention in Orlando FL 1993 Received Maine AMS User Group award for Service and Contribution to that group Recognized at AMSUG National Convention as New England AMSUG Most Valuable Performer 2005 Served on the AMS National Conference Education Committee with other agents nationwide to establish schedule of conference education for AfW/AMS 360 education track Convention speaker teaching two classes at National Conference in Dallas TX. Subjects were AfW Download and AfW Contact Book Participated in AMS Power Users meeting in Garden Grove, CA NAIW Member of National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW) of Aroostook holding offices of Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Vice President, and President. Served as Chairman of Legislative, By-laws and Education Committees and worked on Industry Night and State Convention Committees. Served on the State Naiw Level for two years as a State Committee Member 1984 Earned designation as a Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) 1984 Participated in Let s All Communicate Effectively (LACE), a speaking course sponsored by NAIW, and represented Aroostook County at the State Speak-off.

3 1986 Earned title of Insurance Woman of the Year for Aroostook County based on educational achievements and participation in insurance women s activities Organizer and charter member of Insurance Association of Greater Houlton, affiliated with NAIW International. Has been mentor to the new members encouraging them to hold offices Elected Vice President of Insurance Association of Greater Houlton Elected President of Insurance Association of Greater Houlton Chairman of programs, printing, and registrations for first NAIW State Convention ever held in Houlton and hosted by the Insurance Association of Greater Houlton 1997 Earned title of Insurance Woman of the Year for Insurance Association of Greater Houlton based on educational achievements and participation in insurance women s activities Co-chairman of the NAIW State Convention hosted by the Insurance Association of Greater Houlton and held in East Millinocket Nominated by a fellow NAIW member for the NAIW Hall of Fame program. 4 1986 Organized and moderated a candidate forum in October as part of National Business Women s Week Coordinated with other professional women s organizations located in Aroostook County in promoting National Women s History Week. A joint meeting of all the organizations Legal Secretaries, Banking Women, Insurance Women, and Business and Professional Women was held and sponsored a motivational speaker from out of state Worked on Houlton BPW fashion shows in 1989 and 1990, designing and producing posters and tickets and setting up stage and scenery Received award of Maine BPW Woman of the Year and Maine BPW Member of the Year This had never happened before nor has it happened since Elected President-elect of the Maine Federation of Business and Professional Women at BPW State Convention in Houlton Delegate to BPW/USA National Conference in Tulsa, OK 1996 Served as President of Maine Federation of Business and Professional Women. 5 HOULTON ROTARY 1988 Invited to be a member of Houlton Rotary Club 1991 Elected to Board of Directors and Sergeant at-arms. Worked on food booth at all Rotary and Community activities and served as Chairman of the food booth. Worked on Rotary Radio Day, Canoe Race, and Rotary Radio Auction in all responsibilities. Instituted an automated tote board for the Rotary Auction and was solely responsible for its use for many years. Edited local newsletter for two years and then assisted the new editor in its production Served as President-Elect 1994 Served as President Chairman of the annual auction supplement publication 2003 Received Paul Harris Fellow Award from local club 2008 Given Honorary Membership Status 2008 Rotary Auction Storeroom Manager 2009 Rotary Auction Storeroom Manager 2. Please provide specific ways in which, if elected, you would partner with and strengthen the nonprofit sector to achieve the goals of your campaign. I believe that my experience will give me a great deal of background on which to make legislative decisions regarding non-profits in the State of Maine. To become a partner is to share common interests and promote those that improve the ideals of both parties. I feel that my background will strengthen my ability to accomplish this task.
