The Advanced Beverage Business Management is a one year, three semester program developed for Hospitality diploma and degree graduates, and industry professionals seeking an advanced level of learning focused on all aspects of the wine, spirit and beer business. In our state-of-the-art tasting labs, students will explore and experience global beverages and their relationship to cuisine, culture and lifestyle. This program will provide you with an advanced level of knowledge in beer, wine, spirits, and mixology and also teach you essential business skills such as financial management, organizational behaviour, and strategic marketing; all vital to succeed in today s competitive marketplace. You will travel to domestic and European destinations to visit the distilleries, breweries and wineries of International brand leaders to learn best business practices directly from the top professionals in the field. Successful graduates will earn four additional certifications: Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET ) 3 Levels 2 & 3 Wine and Spirit certification and a Prud homme 4 Beer Certification Levels 1 & 2. FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS Earn a diploma and bachelor s degree in four years. Qualified graduates of our Food and Beverage Management program may be eligible to enter the third year of the Bachelor of Applied Business Hospitality Operations Management degree program at George Brown College. This educational path requires a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to qualify, including four electives. You will begin with a May August bridging semester and start the degree program in September. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A graduate of a degree or a diploma in food and beverage management, hotel management, tourism and hospitality management, special event management, or a related area. Applicants who do not have the required academic credentials but are current industry professionals with a minimum one-year of industry experience and a strong understanding of industry standards may be selected through a divisional select interview (resume required). Applicants without postsecondary education in Canada experience must test at the college level in the George Brown College English assessment.
