1 INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON INTERPRETATION IN THE HEALT CARE SECTOR FRIDAY 30 th OF SEPTEMBER Tietgen Kompetence Center Rugårdsvej Odense NV Objective The aim of the seminar is mainly to share knowledge and to place emphasis on ethnic minorities and interpretation. This inspiration day is designed to be of particular interest to health care professionals, social workers, politicians and others who might be interested in challenges related to issues on communication and interpretation in relation to migrants coming to the western world. The session will include invited professionals from different countries with an expertise in the area of migrants and interpreting - In addition to the talks there will be discussions of the issues brought up and focus will be on why they are significant to patients, professionals as well as society. 3 On the 30 th of September the Odense University Hospital-Migrant Clinic and the Center for Global Health, University of Southern Denmark will be hosting an International Seminar on Interpretation in the Health Care Sector. 1. Participant Fees: The fee for attending the seminar is 400 DKK (55 EURO). Lunch, snacks and refreshments are included in the participation fee. 2. Location: Tietgen Kompetence Center(Tietgen Business College) Rugårdsvej Odense NV The seminar will be held in the Tietgen Kompetence Center s Auditorium. 3. Food and refreshments: A morning snack consisting of Rolls with Danish butter, cheese and marmalade will be served between 9-10am. We will provide coffee and the throughout the whole seminar. Lunch will be provided by the Madkompagniet catering ( and will consist of a delicious buffet. An afternoon snack with Danish homemade cake will be served at 3pm. 4. During breaks: Participants will be able to enjoy all the recreational facilities at the TKC including a small park. 5. Housing facilities: The TKC provides overnight accommodations. Single and double rooms are available. All rooms include a private bathroom and internet access. Fee: 400DKK (55 Euro)

Directions: From Jutland (Jylland) Leave the interstate at Blommenslyst (exit 53). Continue towards Odense down Middelfartvej for 5-6 km. Turn left in Stegsted down Pårupvej(notice a sign towards Nordisk Landboskole and Pårup). Follow the road until you reach the Tietgen Kompetence Center on your left hand side.

5 From Zealand (Sjælland) Leave the interstate at Exit 50 and turn right towards Odense. Follow the road (Hjallesevej) until you reach Tietgens Allé (Hotel Knudsens Gård on your left hand) Turn left and follow the road for approximately 3.5 km, until you reach a crossing. Turn left down Middelfartvej and shortly after turn right at the next light down Rismarksvej (notice the sign towards Otterup). Continue down Rismarksvej approximately 1.5 km. Turn left down Rugårdsvej. You will arrive at the Tietgen Kompetence Center after 1 km. By Train and bus There are good train connections to Odense from all parts of Denmark. After arriving at Odense Central Station (Odense Banegård Center). Ask for directions to the City Bus terminal (By bus terminalen). Take Bus 21, 22 or 122 from terminal A (plads A). Tell the conductor you need to get off at the Tietgen Kompetence Center (Rugårdsvej 286, 5210 Odense NV) The bus fee is 16 DKK and the journey takes minutes. 9. Organizing Committee: Dorthe S.
