2 Copenhagen Copenhagen is Scandinavia s most vibrant and lively capital, and one of Europe s most user friendly cities. Small (approximately 1 million inhabitants) and welcoming, it is a place where people and bicycles set the pace, with a multitude of pavement cafés, pedestrians streets and cycle lanes. Copenhagen offers a range of entertainments ranges from historic royal palaces, national museums, art galleries, parks, canals and excellent shopping. By night, there are plenty of cosy bars, live music (especially jazz) venues and choice of restaurants that could hardly be bettered. Copenhagen s world known icons include the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn (the ancient harbour of Copenhagen), Kronborg Slot (famous as the setting for Shakespeare s Hamlet), the historic amusement park Tivoli, as well as contemporary architectural landmarks such as the new Copenaghen Opera House and the Black Diamond Royal Library among others. Copenhagen has been awarded the European Green Capital award by the European Commission in Copenhagen has placed public private partnerships at the core of its approach to eco innovation and sustainable employment. The jury singled out Copenhagen as a good model in terms of urban planning and design. The city aims at becoming the world s most practicable city for cyclists. Hotel accommodation 3 hotels within 2 5 km from the Technical University of Denmark have been selected: Scandic Eremitage, Schæffergården, and Gentofte Hotel. Indicated room rates are updated as per September Shuttle bus service will be provided to the conference participants from/to the respective hotels (see section Shuttle Bus Service ). Prices includes: bed & breakfast, free wifi internet access, parking place upon availability, VAT. All 3 hotels are a short walk ( m) to the nearest metropolitan train station where trains to/from downtown Copenhagen run every 5 10 minutes and provide connection to the city centre in minutes. Alternatively, a taxi ride to downtown Copenhagen costs approximately 30 and takes around 20 minutes.

5 Venue Meeting Facilities The 4M/IWMF Conference 2016 will take place at the newly renovated Meeting and Conference Centre of the Technical University of Denmark, located in the university s main building 101A (address: Anker Engelunds Vej 1, DTU Building 101A, DK 2800 Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark). The venue is located 15 km in direction north from Copenhagen city centre. All rooms are equipped with embedded IT and projector equipment, and directly connected to lounge rooms and an internal garden ideal for networking and informal meetings. The large auditoriums are surrounded by 20 medium large meeting rooms with capacity from 20 up to 72 seats ideal for the parallel sessions directly connected to restaurant and catering facilities. High speed wireless connection to the internet is available everywhere. The following rooms have been pre booked for the 4M/IWMF Conference Further rooms can be reserved upon request. Meeting Room 1 (Parallel sessions) The Meeting Room 1 can welcome up to 111 participants. The room has direct access to natural light and a foyer. Meeting Room 2 (Parallel sessions) The Meeting Room 2 can welcome up to 72 participants. The room has direct access to natural light, to a foyer, and the garden.

6 Oticon Salen (Plenary sessions) The Oticon Salen auditorium will be prepared to host 226 guests. The Oticon Salen auditorium is a flexible conference facility and its capacity can be extended upon request up to 400 participants. The auditorium is equipped with additional facilities such as cloakroom, toilets, reception, and dedicated space for refreshment. The seats and facility planning are outlined here below. The arrangement is already approved to comply with safety and emergency regulations.

7 Additional Room A An additional room has been booked to serve as conference office for the 4M Association team. This is a full equipped meeting room that can host up to 32 participatns. The room layout is completely flexible as the furniture is easily movable and can be arranged according to the user s request. The room has direct access to natural light, to a foyer, and the garden. Additional Room B An additional room has been booked to serve as meeting room and office space for the Conference participants. This is a full equipped meeting room that can host up to 32 participatns. The room layout is completely flexible as the furniture is easily movable and can be arranged according to the user s request. The room has direct access to natural light, to a foyer, and the garden. The total cost for all facilities is of 800 for the entire period of the conference. All rooms will be available for preparation already on Monday 12/09/2016, at 9:00 AM, i.e. the day before the start of the conference.

8 Food & Beverage Services during the Conference Days Food and beverages will be provided during the conference days in the morning, at lunch and in the afternoon. Note: excluding the afternoon on conference day 3 (15/09/2014), since usually there are no sessions after lunch on the last day of the conference. An example of a typical food and beverages service is as follows: Morning welcome: breakfast available the whole morning, including: o Coffee, tea o Rolls with butter and cheese o Fresh fruits Lunch buffet, including o 1 type of fish (e.g. salmon) o 2 types of cold meat charcuterie (e.g. roast beef, ham) with garnishing o 1 lunch salad (e.g. tuna salad) o 1 hot dish o Drinks: water, soft drinks Afternoon session, including: o Coffee, tea o Cake of the day o Smoothie Fresh water available the whole day Price is 30 per participants per day. Lunch will be served in the DTU s Glass Salen. DTU Glass Salen (lunch) The Glass Salen is prepared to welcome up to 258 guests in a comfortable and bright environment. A lunch buffet setting will be provided to allow all guests an easy access to food and beverages. The arrangement of seats and tables is already approved to comply with safety and emergency regulations. The room has direct access to plenty of natural light and to the garden.

9 Conference dinner The conference dinner will be held at the Langelinie Pavillonen Restaurant. Located on the waterfront with the unrivalled views of The Little Mermaid, the restaurant contains examples of s Danish design, including Poul Henningsen's world famous artichoke lamps. With its superb cuisine, the evening is bound to be a great experience. 10 Shuttle bus A shuttle bus service will be provided to transfer the delegates from/to their hotels to/from the conference venues, as well as from the conference venue to the conference dinner, and then back to the hotels. The following services will be provided: DAY 1 (13/09/2014) o Transfer from hotels to conference venue in the morning o Transfer from conference venue to conference dinner restaurant after the sessions o Transfer from the restaurant back to the hotels after the conference dinner DAY 2 (14/09/2016) o Transfer from hotels to conference venue in the morning o Transfer from conference venue to the hotels after the sessions DAY 3 (15/09/2016) o Transfer from hotels to conference venue in the morning The shuttle bus service for a persons coach costs 140 each transfer. For an attendance of 150 participants, 3 coaches will be needed. Copenhagen Airport Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup (Danish: Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup) (CPH) is the main international airport serving Copenhagen, Denmark, the entire Zealand, the Øresund Region, and a large part of southern Sweden. It is the largest airport in the Nordic countries with 23.3 and 24.1 million passengers per year in 2012 and 2013 respectively. The airport is located on the island of Amager, just 8 kilometres south of Copenhagen city centre, and km from the Technical University of Denmark (depending on the selected route). The airport is the main hub out of three used by Scandinavian Airlines and is also an operating base for Norwegian Air Shuttle. Copenhagen Airport handles 60 scheduled airlines and serves more than 62,000 passengers per day, making it the busiest airport in the Nordic countries. A considerable share of the airport's passengers is international: the domestic part of the annual passengers is lower than 10%. Copenhagen Airport has daily direct connection with all main European Airports, and it is also directly connected to main intercontinental destinations (e.g. New York JFK, Dubai International, Beijing Capital, Chicago O'Hare, Shanghai Pudong, Washington Dulles, Singapore, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Moscow Sheremetyevo, Toronto Pearson, San Francisco Oakland, Tokio Narita). There are trains every 2 10 minutes from Copenhagen Airport which stops at the main stations of Copenhagen (Nørreport, Østerport, Vesterport and Copenhagen Central Station). The price of a ticket for this journey is 8 and all in all it takes about 50 minutes to get to DTU. The ride takes around minutes.

11 References The Technical University of Denmark regularly hosts international conferences, seminar and workshops and has a vast experience in providing organization and professional logistic support to such events. More than 100 took place at DTU since A full list is available at: The Section for Micro/Nano and Precision Manufacturing of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University is also familiar with the organization of large events. In 2013 it was the local organizer of the 63 rd General Assembly of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP), attended by more than 700 delegates. The Section is also the organizer (in collaboration with ATV SEMAPP Denmark) of the Micro/Nano Moulding Seminar Technologies and Applications, held every year since 2010, among other events. Summary of estimated expenses The following estimation refers to an attendance of 150 participants (however, no major variations are expected within ±50 participants).
