7 Working with partner institutes Our software ecats offers the possibility to use particular typefaces. This is of fundamental importance for surveys in, e.g. Poland, Russia, Turkey and Arabia, etc. Therefore, the programming of all questionnaires in the local language will be conducted centrally by the CONdata data center. Our partner institutions will receive the appropriate version in their language. This ensures that every country uses the same CATI programming (in particular, the filter management and quota control). After conducting the survey all data are collected in our data center. And there the coding, analysis and reporting are carried out. Technical requirement We offer extensive quantitative and qualitative studies carried out by experienced in-home, POS and at-work interviewers who work with laptops or handheld computers. Pictures and sound files can also be installed in the programmed questionnaire. Open answers can be captured in a text file as well as in an audio file with original sound! On the basis of a video recording function, the interviewer can also take photographs and film footages during the performance. our competence 7

8 Interviewer skills Experienced and competent interviewers are the first step for good field quality. So we select our interviewers according to their skills, experience and specialization. The success of international studies not only depends on the language skills of the interviewers: our native speakers are also trained in the language as well as in performing of interviews! For B-2-B studies, doctor studies, top managers studies with more-sensitive target groups special interviewers are available. Due to our pleasant working atmosphere, we are able to keep the fluctuation of our interviewers very low which raises the quality of the interviews in a significant way. Ever an important element in surveys is the control of the interviewers. Our quality management comprises: - direct contact of the project manager to the interviewer in the studio and field - written and personal instructions by the responsible project manager - Recording and listening to telephone survey interviews 100% content control by plausibility checks - electronic recording of the actual interview length and length of each question - Covert observation in POS surveys and in mystery shoppings Our interviewers convince with technical expertise and a neat appearance! our competence 8

The definition of target groups means to define markets and to delineate more transparency. Nowadays the classic definition by socio-demographic characteristics such as age, gender and income is no longer sufficient today to explain the behavior of a target group. The psychological criterias for segmentation and their equivalent in a target-group oriented communication are much more effective. We explain and define the market segments with multivariate-mathematical methods, e.g. cluster analysis, factor analysis, causal analysis. 9

10 Selected examples of projects 1. customer satisfaction For more than 15 years customer satisfaction surveys are an integral part of our research. For a nationwide chain stores (tire repair), we carried out several written customer satisfaction surveys. We had sent a total of approximately 30,000 mailings per year to the customers, with the goal to calculate a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) for each store. As a full-service institute we were responsible for the whole process, from the lettershop to the analysis of the results! The correlation of the CSI with the turnover allowed us a customer-oriented management for each store, that could be adapted to particular competitive situation. References 2. CeBIT trade fair survey We performed a trade fair survey for one of the biggest telecommunication manufacturer during the world's largest trade fair for information technology in Hanover. These were very special interviews: For the survey we used designed and programmed multimedia terminals developed by CONdata. The computer conducted the surveys independently without any support of the interviewers. The questions were digitized in a recording studio, so that the respondent was guided through the interview by the computer acoustically and visually. Theme of the survey was to evaluate the different areas the respondent had visited in order to measure the acceptance of the product presentations and to collect demographic data. Every day the data were transferred from the trade fair to our data center, so that the customer satisfaction data could be already presented in the middle of the duration of the trade fair which significantly contributes to the further motivation of the exhibition staff. 10

Joint research of serveral manufactures for standarization of customer satisfaction For the leading communication equipment manufacturer, we conducted a joint study concerning customer satisfaction. Each manufacturer provided us with its individual customers addresses that we "trustly" managed. The basic benefit for each participant was that in addition to his individual customer satisfaction data he also got the reported "total column" in the tables as a benchmark for the whole branch. In this way, the individual analysis of each participant could be carried out much more "market oriented". 4. Handling test On planning the (re)launch of a new product handling tests with potential buyers are essential, because they both provide important information about the general acceptance of the product as well as expectations and fears the buyers associate with the product. These are important parameters for a successful (re)launch! For an international manufacturer of professional cleaning equipment we performed a handling test in two countries in Germany (Essen) and Italy (Milan). Especially with consumer goods culture-specific differences could exist, which might have an important impact on handling with the procduct. Finally, we of course offer every customer, a meaningful and clear presentation, in this case, the presentation took place in Switzerland and was conducted in English. References 11

12 Selected examples of projects 5. Point- of- Sale Surveys Customer satisfaction surveys at point-of-sale are our special strength. We can do this with regard to an excellent basis of experience, also in terms of our interviewers! For a leading DIY chain, we perform nationwide point-of-sale surveys in Germany and in Austria. A continuous dialogue with our customers makes it possible for us to design current and informative questionnaires, which our interviewers carry out face to face with the customers. Among other things the studies provide not only the frequency of the individual shopping areas and products within the market but also competitive analysis of other manufacturers. Thus we can break down specific competitive situations multifaceted and provide important insights to improve the market situation! Here we would be pleased to advise you personally and in detail! References 6. millionaire interviews This survey is an example of our experience with specific and very difficult target groups. You are planning to introduce a product for a very exclusive audience? Then you are CONdata right with! We have interviewers with the necessary background to carry out sophisticated studies, as reliability and versatility ensure the achievement of exclusive survey groups. On selecting the survey sites, it is important to reach events where the target group frequency and the survey frequency is high. We ensure this in advance through intensive research and in agreements with our customer. As part of a concept test, we conducted a survey on fairs for millionaires in Monaco, Shanghai, New York and Moscow. The questionnaire was developed by us, translated into four languages and programmed into mobile input devices. We carried out the interviews with respondents who possessed an annual income of at least 1 million. We were charged with the overall organization and management of this study, while the analysis was performed by comparing the data of Monaco, Shanghai, New York and Moscow. 12

Tracking study In a tracking study conducted by us, the aim was to investigate the effect of sponsorship of a leading sports lifestyle brand during the Vienna European Championship in Target group were young people under 30 with special interest in lifestyle and fashion. In four stages of research the "awareness" of the brand was analyzed, before, during and after the European Soccer Championship, so that the effects could be accurately shown within the context of time. More over, attitudes towards competiting brands had been collected in many categories as point of comparison. 8. International CATI study For a leading mobile communications provider we conducted a multi-country CATI study in Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Turkey with 150 interviews in each country. Target groups were also quoted for each country in "Public Safety" (police, fire departments), "Service" (Private services security), "Transportation" (airports, ports), "Manufacturing" (chemical sector, automotive, metal) "Construction" (construction company) and "Government" (municipal authorities, county councils, regional authorities and federal authorities). A very ambitious quota! The interviews were all conducted centrally in our callcenter with native speakers. The questionnaires were translated, programmed for the CATI interviews and then the data were analyzed in a total file. References 13
