3 IP Finder(IP Setup for Single Camera) Connect MPix IP camera and computer to the Switch (or Router) Plug DC12V Power to MPix IP camera Install setup_cms Start util 1.Click IP find 2.Click IP number 4.Click Mac Address 3.Click Add 5. Type IP, Gateway, Subnet Mask Refer to Tip for IP config 6. Type Connect Port & Web port 7. Type PW admin 8. Click Apply <Tips> IP Config 1.Camera should have same Subnet Mask and Gateway number as your computer but different IP number from any other network device connected to the network. 2. How to check Gateway and Subnet Mask on your network. 2. Click Run 3. Type ipconfig and hit enter 4. Check Subnet and Gateway of your Computer 1. Click Start

4 IP Finder (IP Setup for Multiple Cameras) You can setup individual camera one by one or you can setup multi IP camera by using IP Generation 1.Click Add multi 2.Check IP address & All IP 3. Click OK 4. Click IP generation 5. Type Starting and increase number of IP, Connect Port and Web Port 6. Type Password admin 8. Click OK 7. Type Gateway & Subnet Mask <Tips for port> MPix IP camera use 3 ports. 1. Connect Port : Programmable by user, Used Video Streaming (Default:9000) 2. Control Port : Connect Port + 1, Used for IP camera remote setup(default:9001) 3. Web Port : Programmable by user, Web Connect (Default:80) 9. Click Apply

5 Make DB(Data Base) ******************Warning******************* Set time&date&time Zone in your window first. If you change time after making DB, you have big chance of losing video data. Start CMS Click Lock Type ID&PW ID:admin PW:admin Click Setup 2. Select HDD to save video data in 3. Click << to add Storage 4. Check Fixed Mode 6. Click Make DB 5. Select number of DB. 7. Click Save&Close *What is DB(Data Base) from MPix CMS? 1. MPix CMS physically assigns the location of the recording data on the HDD even before recording. It is a proprietary HDD partition. By doing that, it avoids the HDD fragment issues and makes the video search faster and HDD life cycle longer. 2. You can create up to 4 different DB to maximize your storage performance. 3. You can program each group to record on different DB(different HDD)

6 Server Setup You can make the system as server or client. 1. Server Mode 2. Client Mode Server Client Client Viewing & Recording from MPix Viewing & Recording from Server Or MPix 2. Check Server system Viewing & Recording from only MPix 3. Check application for Surveillance, Search, and Backup 4. Double Check Server Port Default: Server What is the difference between server and client mode? Server can be accessed by another client. But client can t access another client. When server is connected with client, client can view, search and backup from server.

7 Add Site (Site=IP camera) 2. Right Click Add Site 2. Select IP camera 3. Type Camera ID&PW ID: root PW: root IP Finder Whenever a site is added or deleted, message shows up

8 Add Group (Group: Group of IP Cameras) 2. Right Click Group 3. Click Add Group 4. Click Editing 5. Select camera 8. Click Save&Close 6. Click Addition 7. Click OK

9 2. Click Schedule Set Group Schedule (From Add Group continued) 1. Check Use Schedule) 1.Click Schedule 2. Click Channel 3. Select Recording Type 4. Drag Mouse on the table to change record type 5.After setting all the channels, click Save&Close

10 Set Group Mode (From Add Group continued) 2. Right Click Group 3. Click Set Group Mode <Tips> Connect Group vs Set Group Mode - Connect Group: Live picture shows up (No Recording) - Set Group Mode: Live picture shows up + Schedule Recording (If schedule is set up) 1. If you click Set Group Mode and nothing happens, go to Edit Group and double check Schedule Setup

11 Motion Setup 1.Right Click on Camera screen 2. Click Remote Setup Motion 2. Check Use Motion Detection and Use CMS Setting 3. Click Setting 4. Adjust Sensitivity Red(+) : More sensitive Blue : Less sensitive White : No Motion 5. Drag on the screen to select area 6. Click Apply 7. Click Save&Close <Tips> Use Motion Detection is a mandatory step for schedule recording. If motion setup is not checked, schedule recording for motion will not work.

12 Search Click Search 1. Double Click Group1 -Local : Manual Record -Group : Group Schedule Record Selected DB Info 2. Click Red Date Play Control Buttons 4. Click minute in color 3. 13 Backup 1.Double Click Group 2. Click Red Date 3. Click Backup 1. Select Common Backup 2. Set Start Time & End Time 3. Select folder 4. Select video format -.inf: This is the same format as CMS. This option copies the player s/w to the backup folder by itself. -.avi :Since MPix13 uses standard MPEG4 codec, this format can be played on any media player w/o additional codec installation. Select Continous Record Select Motion Record Select Sensor Record 5. Click No. of ch to backup 6. Click Backup Size to see the size of the selected video 7. Click Backup

14 Backup Play <Tips> 1. Backup Player is just for.inf format backup. 2. *.avi format does not require backup player. Since MPix13 uses standard MPEG4 codec, *.avi format can be played on any media player without additional codec installation. Start Player 4. Select Date 1.Click Open 2. Select *.inf file 3. Click Open After opening the file, it is exactly same as CMS Search Mode. And, CMS Search Mode has file open feature just like player s/w.

15 Multi Monitor Setup Activate Multi Monitor from window display properties Click Setup Click Plugin Select Monitor Mode <Tips> 1. You can switch between monitors by hitting the numeric number (1~4) on your key pad. 2. MPix CMS supports up to 4 monitors. After installing multi-vga cards and activating them, CMS sees them automatically and you can select monitor mode. 3. If your VGA card does not support overlay on any of the connected monitors, turn off the overlay feature.

16 Bandwidth(Video Quality) Setup 1.Right Click on Camera screen 2. Click Remote Setup System 2. Click Video 3. Select Resolution MPEG4 2. Select Quality <Tips> 1. Avg. Bandwidth at QVGA(1280x960) -MPEG4(VBR, 15fps) Normal : 0.5 Mbps, High: 1 Mbps,Very High: 2 Mbps - MJPEG : 10 Mbps at Q(Quality)=50 1 Mbps=1,000 Kbps=1,000,000 bps 8 bit = 1 byte 2. Storage Required for 1 cam continuous recording at MPEG4, VBR, QVGA(1280x960), 15fps, and High Quality =1Mbps x 60(sec/min) x 60(min/hour) x 24(hour/day) / 8(bit) = 10800Mbyte/day =10Gbyte/day

18 Firmware Update 1.Type IP number of camera Factory Default -IP: GW: Subnet Mask : Click Administrator s page Pop-up blocker 2. Click Always Allow 1. Type ID&PW ID:admin PW:admin 2.Click Login 1.Click Browse and select firmware file (*.tar ) 2. Click Update Wait until this message disappears Click Restart and wait couple minutes for camera to reboot.

19 FAQ 1. I can t view picture from CMS, but web browser. -> First, check your ID/password (Default root/root) Second, check firewall or antivirus software whether it blocks CMS s/w 2. I can t view picture from web browser, but CMS -> First, IE (Internet Explorer) is only web application to view. (Firefox, Google Chrome not supported) Second, try to download activex again. 3. I can t search any video with group mode -> Check out whether schedule mode is set and group mode is on. If you set all camera as motion recording, check out whether Use motion detection is checked in CMS or MPix (Page 11) 4. Sometimes, camera is off and on. -> Ping test (ping t), it will show you connectivity. If you see request time out frequently, you need to check your wire and connector. 5. When I search, I can see local and group DB what are these? -> Local DB is data from manual recording, Group DB is data from schedule recording (Page 12)
