Accommodation and Venue of the meeting 1.1 Meeting venue: The Regional United Nations Development Group (R-UNDG) Meeting will be graciously hosted by the R- UNDG team member, the World Health Organization, at their Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean premises in Cairo, Egypt. Abdul Razzak Al Sanhouri Street Nasr City, Cairo 11371, Egypt Telephone: Facsimile: or To access the building, participants should bring their UN ID or UNLP. 1.2 Arrival and Departure: Participants are advised to arrive on 08 March 2016 and depart late on the evening of 09 March 2016, or thereafter on 10 March Hotel Accommodation: Please note that participants coming from outside Egypt are advised to stay at InterContinental City Stars Hotel in Nasr City. 20 rooms have been reserved for participants coming from outside Egypt at the InterContinental City Stars Hotel at a rate of USD$120 per single room per night on bed and breakfast basis subject to 12% Service Charge, 10% Sales Tax and 1% Municipal Tax. These rooms will be secured upon confirmation. 2 Holiday Inn City Stars Hotel rate: USD$86 per single room per night on bed and breakfast basis subject to 12% Service Charge, 10% Sales Tax and 1% Municipal Tax. 1.4 Welcome dinner An official welcome dinner will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday 8 March 2016 in the InterContinental City Stars Hotel for all R-UNDG Regional Directors and guests of the meeting. The dinner will take place in the Maestro restaurant. 1.5 Lunch and Coffee Breaks: Lunch will be provided for all participants and will be served in the Pergola Hall, on the ground floor of the WHO Regional Office. There will be a coffee break served with lights snacks in the morning and in the afternoon and these will be served next to the meeting room. 2. Travel/ Admin Requirements: Participants are expected to cover their own costs, Travel and Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA), and settle their bills directly with the hotel. 2.1 DSA: DSA Rate / Cairo: USD 282 / Egyptian Pound 2,210 Lunch will be provided during the meeting on 9 March Visa Formalities: Visa for Laissez Passer holders is not required, however, it is strongly recommended that Participants obtain the visa prior to travelling to Egypt. 2.3 Security Clearance: Security Clearance is required for all official travel to any location regardless of the Security Level. To assist Designated Officials in managing security clearances for both external and internal travel, the Department of Safety and Security supports a web-based system called Travel Request Information Process (TRIP). TRIP is the third iteration of the security clearance system and was introduced at the same time as the SLS system to reflect the changes in the applicable policies. Cairo Specific: All travel of international staff within Egypt is also subject to obtaining a security clearance via TRIP. Drop off service back from the Hotel to Cairo Airport based on the guest flight details, noting that the guest can choose the preferred limousine upon departure: Mercedes limousine: EGP 200 Hyundai limousine: EGP 100 Transport to the WHO Regional Office (meeting venue) o For participants staying at the InterContinental City Stars Hotel, the hotel will provide transport to the WHO Regional Office free of charge, departing at 8.30am and returning in the evening at 6.00pm. Participants wishing to avail of this transport, should gather in the lobby from 8.25am as the bus will depart from in front of the hotel at 8.30am sharp. 2.5 Air ticket Confirmation: For any needed re-confirmation for your return flight, please arrange through the Concierge at the Hotel. 3. Facilities: 3.1 Fax/ /Printing/Internet: WiFi will be made available to participants at the meeting venue and IT will be available to support. 3.3 Voltage: Domestic supply is 230V, which is the same voltage used in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. 3.4 Currency and Exchange Rate: The monetary unit in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP) subdivided into 100 Piasters. Notes are available in EGP: 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200. The present operational rate of exchange for the UN is US$ 1 = 7.82 (EGP), subject to change. 3.5 Weather: Temperatures in March witnesses rising daily high temperatures, with daily highs increasing from 20 C to 26 C over the course of the month, exceeding 31 C or dropping below 19 C only one day in ten. 4.
