3 Full Sftware Requirements and Hardware Recmmendatins PHP and higher (we recmmend using the latest stable release f PHP. The fllwing PHP extensins are required): GD image handling library; PHP XML used by the update system; FreeType required fr CAPTCHA; Regular Expressins supprt; Zlib cmpressin required t decrease the amunt f transferred data; PHP enabled web server: Apache (recmmended) 1.3.X and higher. The system als runs successfully n Apache 2.X; MS IIS 5.0 r 6.0. PHP shuld be installed as ISAPI. Database server supprt. One f the fllwing database engines can be used n yur site: MySQL versin and higher is recmmended. T wrk with MySQL prperly, the system requires the MySQL supprt fr PHP t be installed; Oracle 10g (fr prduct editins supprting Oracle DB) can be used. T fully supprt Oracle, the php_ci8.dll extensin f PHP shuld be installed; MSSQL 2000 and higher (fr prduct editins supprting MSSQL) can als be used. ODBS supprt shuld be prvided t be able t install this database. Memry limit Please nte: One f the critical PHP parameters that Bitrix Intranet requires fr prper functining is memry_limit = 64M. This is the minimum amunt f PHP memry required by the system cre. This parameter can be changed: by editing the file php.ini directly; Bitrix Intranet: Prduct Requirements 3

4 frm within a script by calling ini_set("memry_limit", "64M"); This call is added t /bitrix/php_interface/dbcnn.php at the installatin time using the user-supplied value; in the file.htaccess using the directive: php_value memry_limit 64M. Brwser Supprt All the site management tasks can be perfrmed thrugh the web-interface f any Internet brwser (except when wrking with the HTML editr cmpnent, which requires Internet Explrer 7.0 and higher r Mzilla Firefx 1.5 r higher). Bitrix Intranet supprts the fllwing standards: HTML/XHTML the system places n restrictins n templates develped with HTML/XHTML; JavaScript the system uncnditinally supprts the use f JavaScript in the site templates, menus and pages; AJAX this technlgy is widely used in the Cntrl Panel t speed up the system respnse and decrease server-t-client data traffic. The system places n restrictins n using AJAX in the public sectin; CSS can be used in the in site template design, public cmpnents, etc. The Cntrl Panel features the use f visual themes: users can create their wn visual themes thrugh custmized cascading styles. Flash technlgy supprt is limited. Yu can use it as a part f the site template design, as advertising banners, r as user input cntrls deliberately designed t interact with the system. RSS (versins 0.92 r 2.0) is used t exchange infrmatin between the Infrmatin Blcks and Blgs mdules. CSV standard is used t exchange infrmatin between the Infrmatin Blcks mdule and ther systems.
